Oh well, I got it wrong about Dom. Shame really but what I can't understand is that we have guys at the club like Friend, Cordner, Aubbs etc. If Dom had anything about him and really wanted to improve, then surely those guys could and would have helped him with his defence. But anyhow, it's great we are getting serious and letting the prima donna's and dic*heads go!
Yep I get this. And I think about it too.

    1. Young man, we are going to show you how to defend.
    2. Young man is not keen.

Seriously we will need a replacement for Toops eventually. The ball is definitely in Dom's court. He is a dead set big dude.

Do you reckon R Hall was poorly coached at the Chooks ? He can score a try in the S League. Or does that say how much the S League is below the NRL. Another big strong hombre.

The Nawa man is a classic. What about the head shakes after he scores a meat pie. Good value.

He was great under the high ball prior to the other night. He dropped three Burton bombs in slippery conditions. Most wings would have struggled.

Exactly. The bloke has good hands . He had a bad night in atrocious conditions , cut him some slack . What about his freakish ability scoring that try ? He's so athletically gifted and could be anything in the game. A definite keeper !

Look I don't consign to the poorly coached angle . He has scored many great tries against the Kangaroos and internationally as well as in super league . He has a lot of ability! I think the knee injury prior to joining us was absolutely the reason for his unremarkable run here.

IMO just too big and too slow. No point kicking to him either.

I am sure Hall thought he was the unluckiest winger ever just missing out on many occasions against scrambling defence. The reality is if he had an extra yard of pace it would have been the scrambling defence just missing out as you see every weekend.

Hire Burton to put up another 4 bombs for him. Offer him an extra $50k a season for every one he catches.

I know he scored that amazing try but probably not the best week for his management to be negotiating a new contract.

And $700k for a winger? Really?

To win a premiership you need 2 first grade teams.
                    First grade 1 and
First grade 2 (aka 'NSW Cup).
A player in FG 1 gets injured or sick, player from FG 2, who is fully trained to first grade standard, steps in.

                    Salary cap?
The pay in FG2 enough to keep players there while they wait for their promotion to FG1.

$700k for a winger is one of the highest paid in the comp.
If he can develop into a long term fullback or even a center, it'll be bargain however.

                        We're obviously buying on potential.
I do hope Toops is being, and has been, paid well.

These day's, I'll priorities the yardage element of a wingers game over their finishing ability. If you're outside backs can get you off your line and you're up and around the halfway mark on your last tackle your kick becomes an attacking rather than a clearing kick. This is one of the reasons Robbo initially dropped Young.

Nawaq's has been pretty good overall, he's been better than I thought he would be but the drop bombs last week is sort of a worry. No other kicker in the league kicks them as high as what Burton does so it could have just been an off night for him but we'll have to wait & see if other teams pepper him with torpedo punts to see if he can handle it. This weekend he doest have to worry about catching bombs because he's playing in the centres.

Imagine if Manu was still a Rooster. Toia would be playing cup this weekend instead he's now in camp with the QLD origin team.

                                Funny how things work out!
