  • Not time to blow up, considering!

    We are missing:

    Sam WALKER
    Angus
    Brandon Smith
    Egan Butcher
    Lindsay Collins
    Nat Butcher
    Billy Smith

‘Penrith snapped into form tonight and we couldn’t go with them.

This year may not be our year but we are not that far off the pace .

I am enjoying watching our young players come through the system,

I know some people expect us to be at the top always but sometimes it just doesn’t go our way.

Enjoy the ride and look forward to ANZAC game against Dragons next week

    Go the Roosters

Angus Crichton and Brandon Smith don't offer anything so missing them means nothing.

I think Billy Smith and obviously Sam Walker are the two big outs, the team has no direction and no attacking threat without Walker and Billy Smith is just class in both attack and defence he's the best outside back at the club by a mile plus he relegates Dom Young to anywhere but first grade which is a positive in its own right.

I wouldn't feed B Smith or E Butcher. Both are bludging passengers in a poorly coached team.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

A bit of a cop out imo. Obviously having those players would boost our team but we just seem to ignore everything good about our attack when we’ve won. Boring, safe play when we needed to spread the ball and change the direction of our attack. Penrith were garbage in the first half, and we played them into form. We seem to do that quite often.
          EASTS TO WIN!

Losing Butcher inside 10mins buckled us, Nafahu Whyte take a bow 159 meters 38 tackles if he goes down we’re done for, Spencer needed to step up Origin forward he should have lead the pack when Nat went off very very ordinary game from him we need way more from him especially when the going gets tough, he goes missing we sorely lack a forward leader or a leader in general.

Panthers on the other hand 4 forwards 100m plus and the backs killed us on the edge.
I don’t believe we deserved to lose by 28, it’s a case of one step forward two backward, very little footy smarts again, inability to defend our own errors and ill discipline, completion rate was decent boy can we do with Sam Walker he is sorely missed.

Looking ahead Dragons who seem to be coming good we have our work cut out, Dom Young bloody hell rocks and diamonds he can do some great things in such little space I’m attack just undoes all of that with stupid decision making Billy Smith welcome back, Marky not the best game in our colours still he’s very good prospect needs more time.

            On to next week.

If you watch the Dogs they tend to have 3 or 4 in tackles.

We needed to pressure Clearly he gets kicks away too easy.

We started great and that flick from. Marky to Toops was great. So dodgy decisions didn't help but it's not why we lost.

We fell in the hole of just one out carries and apart from the set play from the scrum we neve looked likely.

We weren't the same side as last week. Even Hugo was down on last week but we need patience.

yeah, brandon smith, crichton and collins are test players and sam walker is our attacking threat. nat going down made it harder. billy was missed.
we did not get the rub of the green of ref's calls.
panthers played very well. the two kicks from tries might have been a bit lucky but three of their four other tries were well worked plays where they created an overlap. no doubt we could have defended them better but they asked some questions. rob defended pretty well but had a bad one on one miss for the other try.
but we made too many handling errors, particularly early when we had momentum.

Strongly disagree. Crichton has struggled for form this year thus far but has still had some good moments and is better than Foketi who came in for him at just 5 first grade games. Crichton, Wong and Radley is much more intimidating than what we put out there last night.

As for Brandon, at this point I'm assuming he'd be a straight swap for ZDC, Smith hasn't come close to his best footy with us but I'd still take an average Brandon Smith game over an average ZDC game.

Crichton is getting paid way too much money to only be marginally better than Foketi. Crichton hasn't intimidated Penrith in the last 6 years so last night would have been no different he always melts against a good forward pack.

Again, Brandon Smith is another one who is getting paid way too much to be marginally better than the bloke in there now. Smith wouldn't even be a swap for ZDC he would be a swap for Watson and we would see ZDC play more if Smith was fit because Smith can barely get through 50 minutes a match at 9 whereas Watson gets through almost a full game without a break ZDC didn't get on the field last week and only got about 10 minutes last night.

Angus was dally m 2nd rower of the year last year and took out the nsw blues and Wally Lewis medals
he has shown how good he can be
last year was certainly his best
would be great is he could get there consistently

We need to get some big tough mad mother trucker front rowers to help out Mr Whyte.

You wander if Spencer really did want out at the start of the year. He has been poor.

                            Come on Chooks.

Has probably been our worst experienced forward this year, he came on last night trying to make an impact and immediately shifted momentum to the opposition.
