  • The whole young squad rebuilding excuse....

to me is purely a way for B Smith to keep his job.

Think about it if he only keeps young players and keeps saying he is rebuilding then no matter how crap the teams he coaches play he keeps his job! He knows he will never win a comp but may as well keep collecting the $500K a year or so

Smith just fark off. surely he must go. We are an absolute disgrace of a footy team.

We will rue the day we didnt sign McGuire

As I have said before... its an over-used excuse and surely we are seeing through it by now. We dont play for 'next year'. We play TODAY! NYC is about 'next year'. If your in firsts, play like it.

It can't be used to justify the performance today, but it is a real factor.

I agree we need to ramp up our roster it takes till 2013 for Smith to make decent recruitment.

Why don't we swap the under 20s with first grade?

            Swapping the coaches should suffice.

We shouldn't have a young squad to begin with.

                Terrible gameplan absolutely terrible.
Smith and Anasta went up the hill to fill their massive paychecks.
Club starts to suck Perret leaves and Mitchell comes tumbling after!

What we saw is a team that has dominated for many years come against an inconsistent side like us. I think the score blew out with a few of their tries but they would always be a class above based on the progression of the 2 teams.

Agree Elo this prick is the biggest spin doctor in the game and Politis is falling for it hook line and sinker how he thinks these 2 losers could bring us premiership glory is beyond me they have over 40 years of 1st grade coaching experience between them for a big fat donut in premierships that clown Elliott has lost 8 finals out of 8 enough said.

There's no one much of SOO or Test level to buy...well who wants to sign with a team coached by Smith by the look of it, and sitting down the bottom of the ladder.

We have to make our own first graders these days.

Glen Stewart is off contract weve already signed a fast good defensive winger and 5/8 is what we needeed the problem is the coach.

A coach is only as good as the cattle..

Bennett doesn't seem to be performing too well at Newcastle as he did with Lock at the Broncs,

or a pretty decent dragons side in 2010..

Smith may not be the best out there but he did alright with a gun 6 in 2010

much like R. Stuart did with another champion 6 last decade..

                          Sometimes players make the coach.

They have an excuse. Their 6 is out and Buderus was injured for a while. Their players turned out flops. We have players who are good but are error-prone and have no gameplan or structure to follow. That is the problem. The problem at the Hunter is out of his hands until their playmaker comes back and Boyd starts to fire. It was bad recruitment that was the problem up there here it is the COACH.

That's it though, he did "alright" in 2010....we still weren't a great team from a coaching standpoint, when the ad-lib brilliance clicked we were great, but is that anything to do with coaching? Not really for me, let's also not forget we still had a 50 point loss to a very ordinary Dogs side that season.

We just aren't well coached, we are weak as piss in the head and have no rock solid structures to fall back on when the going gets tough.
