Just looking at his blog he ranks Smith as no.12 out of all the coaches this season. Rather weird since he has done wonders with Newcastle.

Yesterday he chastised Smith and the Roosters for the handling of Freddy.

I know the bloke wants to be a sensationalist to sell papers, but is he an impostor or just agenda driven ?

If so, where did it stem from ?

Gus is involved with Easts still, it may be unofficial but listen to him he always refers to Easts as "us" or "we".

Gus is also friends with Smiff.

Look at the Ping affair. The headlines are all sympathetic to Poor Pingy, its not his fault, he just had to go. Even though hes walked out on his contract.

i remember i had an email debate with on of their "Jurnos" he was an old bloke with a beard, i forgot the name.

i had a a logical argument to his article and all i got was abuse back ! i actually offered that he join us in the pen. My offer was never declined, it was neved taken up either.

You just need to look at his blogs he has every other day. he is just having a whinge. I hate the way he refers to Gould as "Philip Ronald Gould". It shows the childish approach to the guy.

I am sure that once he dislikes someone, that is it, they are mud.

Rothfield is a tool. I wouldn't rank Smith in the top 5 coaches in the NRL, but I wouldn't rank him at 12 either. Smith has a long history of disillusioning players and no premierships to show for it. What he has done for Newcastle is great though. He's exactly what this club needs, what shocks me more is that Rothfield rated Hasler as number 1.
