Letting Cherrington go would hardly free up any cap space, surely he's on minimum atm ?
His medical bills alone over the past few years wouldn't be small change. I know it's not under the salary cap but Cherrington is a high maintenance player I'd be happy to see go elsewhere. The amount of his contract is only one part of the equation, his history of injury and not playing for extended periods is another.

I've only seen one game of Jack LittleJohn, I thought he was impressive. Cherrington is a myth to me.
I've seen a few games from Littlejohn, he will never be an NRL player, at least not in the halves. Cherro a myth? He's more than that! There have been more sightings of the Loch Ness Monster than there has of Cherro! Having said that, when he debuted way back in 2008, he showed some promising signs. It remains to be seen whether he can overcome the injury setbacks but he won't cost much and I would be happy to see him given another season.
Incentive deals can still be offered under the second tier structure, but the amount paid in that year becomes the players minimum deal the following year if he is to continue.
In Cherros case, this would be a wise deal to offer him.I cannot see too many other clubs out bidding us for him in the short term...
