With good reason because of our injury toll.
Gould is a wheeler & dealer with ulterior motives with the sole purpose of getting what he wants.

So, they have a supposed injury crisis but they decide to drop their marquee player Jennings and have now dropped Coote for a relatively minor breach? I smell hidden agenda's.

might i add in the weeks since they have signed whare, manu, segeyaro and brown. manu on decent money one would think, segeyaro would have been in demand, brown is an international and whare in good form. they are also yet to officially release anyone to make way for those players. I for one would think it silly if they were to let go of coote and jennings - both superstars in their own rights.

They should let go of luke walsh who is on a fair wack for an average player and allow seijka, taumata and burns to cover the halves. In their defence, I do think that coote and jennings are both being overpaid. Thats not to say that they arent great players/prospects. Just cant justify coote on 300 odd at this stage of his career and jennings up around 5-600 - thats highest paid player in the game stuff.

Why do you even want him hes not even good.
We already have Mini till 2013 and RTS after that. Its a tupid rumour used to start a bloody thread. Lussick was actaully a player that was linked to us and not 1 thread has been started. No way we need Coote. We need a bloody winger a problem here for ages and a centre(SBW)

Agree Roz. Dropping both them overpaid players is Gould's informal way of announcing to other clubs they can have them as long as they pay a fair whack of their remaining contract. Also a good way too for the Penrith club to save $$$ if a pissed off player breaks his contract & walks away.

the reason why that may also be good from other clubs' perspective is that penrith will still pay a portion of those contracts (both of which extend for another few years from memory) which means in reality, we could be fielding coote for a couple of years for 200k tops which is peanuts considering by that stage imo he will be playing origin. Jennings would be closer to 300-400k which if he plays well is pretty fair but we dont need a player like him (attitude wise that is). coote doesnt have a bad attitude/get into much trouble. good clubman from all accounts

So if you get dropped now it means the club doesnt want you anymore?

I dont think he is out of favour I think Penrith have a coach who makes the hard decisions & drops blokes who dont perform.

I bought it on Thursday & took it up to Gosford this morning for my son to read. Sorry mate.

But the gist of the article is about how RTS is being groomed to take over from Mini. It talks about his switch from union his football talents, how Super 15 franchises wanted him. POS says they showed him the Eastern Suburbs lifestyle & got him into Uni, he is studying to be a PE teacher. The Roosters housed him with Moga & Tago around Bronte I think.

I genuinely believe he will develop over time to become a pretty good first grader.

Thanks for that. Exciting times if these players are developed right.

I agree that Jennings is not the ty pe of player we would want at our club,i've seen him play on many occasions and whilst marveling at his speed, step, and overall elusiveness, the undoubted qualities he possesses is counter- balanced by his unwillingness to look for the ball or take the ball to the line when his forwards are tiring for his abilities ,he does'nt score that many tries. I always considered him over rated.

Also read the article, sounds like he is a down to earth kinda guy and not one who thinks he is a world beater, goodluck to him.
