Penrith RIGHT NOW are in the position that WE WERE IN during Brian's first year of coaching. He was brought in to clean up the deadwood just like Cleary.

The problem with it was (and some posters correctly identified it back then) that we did a Parra and rode into the finals on the back of a player dominating (Carney). From that moment, the rebuilding phase was held back because everyone overrated our players.

Panthers are the definition of a nuff football team. Aside from Jennings (hardly plays) and Lewis (superstar) their next best is Kevin Kingston who is just a solid player. FFS they have Burns in the halves ! (biggest competitor in the NRL but not a halves a-hole).

Who are the quality signings ? Clint Newton ? Ciraldo ? Please. Josh Mansour was a Souths reject.

They are traveling better than us due to the fact that Cleary gets the best out of these nuffs, while Brian lets them cruise in first grade.
Cleary knows that they don't have too much doing in their backline so he plays it out in the forwards because he has two big boppers (Grant and McKendry) who go forward.
On average, their Roster is worse than ours but the difference is that Cleary gives them roles and allows them to play within a structure.

Cleary looks like a tough coach who prides himself on discipline and structures. Look at how the Warriors played while under him, i can't believe they let him go!
Haha sorry mate I thought you said we are what Penrith were 2 years ago I agree. They have a roster worser than us and Eels but Penrith is rebuilding fast and theyre roster next year will shit over us unless that we do some smart recruitment. Eels will still be shit but its justthe fact we are comparing ourselves to them is sad and showed what our great club has becmone. Smith has also taken long to take out the deadwood eg Anasta, FPN is still here. We actually recruited more deadwood eg. Tagive. Smith is probably the worst problem we have and Nasta and both must go. We have missed the finals. How is he rebuilding bad behaviour still exists. Yes we made the 2010 gf and ever since then he has never recruited anyone of value because he thinks our roster cuts it. In rebuilding years you recruit well look at Penrith we just got rid of sone bad behaviour dont change the way we play it sickens me its soooooooooooooo stupid. Why cant we play good ****in Hell what is with these people in bad behaviour its like their first bloody priority not the way we play. Ugh

They have Sika Manu, Dean Whare & James Segeyaro for 2013.

So true, making the GF in his 1st year as coach cruelled the rebuilding phase.

Obviously he holds Gus in the highest regards. I honestly believe if Cleary was coaching the Warriors this year they would have won the comp.
