Yeah but we were up 5 -1 in the penalties during the first half and they had possession 60/40. We couldn't whinge they'd say they kept us in the match. Our try was a bad call in our favour... Wallace's was less controversial. The main call was the worst I can remember. When Anasta challenged the refs and said you called Roosters ball, which one did and one didn't, they denied it as far as I could tell. It killed the game and everything after it was tainted. The competence of the pair and video ref is in question.

The referees have become so arrogant with their bullshit rulings, they make up the rules as they go. If this standard continues next year i'll dump the game. i've gone from watching 8 games a week to watching only the Roosters play and I hate watching them play too, so my hatred of the game is pushing me to the brink.

Exactly right, BOD is for when the ball is obscured and you assume in all probability that a try has been scored. In the double movement, it was clear camera angle and for all to see ...so you either think its a try or not ? BOD was just a bullsh!t call ..... more likely a square up after they didn't see the Arona drop ball !

Having attended this miserable game in the rain, it is easy to focus just on our team's depressing lack of a game plan, patience, penetration or the presence of any attacking player with the x factor. All are missing, as well as a kicking game 90 % of the time.

But there is no other sport where the refereeing officials exert so much influence over the outcome as rugby league. The presence of a second referee on the field and a third one in the video box have simply made the officiating 3 times as bad.

Clear double movement no try to Wallace (clearly a deliberate square up for a miraculous mistake by a ref to award Arona's try). Followed by the worst on field refereeing decision allowing "play-on" after awarding roosters possession after a broncos handling blunder. Numerous 4th and 5th tackle dubious piggy-back penalties to brisbane to give them multiple sets against an admittedly fragile Easts defence. Another try to brisbane after 5th tackle kick ruled to have been "played at" by rooster (G Inglis SOO deja vu).

Don't get me wrong, this team is well and truly capable of stuffing up a game for the taking without being shafted by the refs, but I am still to see it this year.

Roosters played awful. Refs even worse.

Have not checked the bookies, but roosters looking like solid spoon material with this line up and coaching set up. Continued, week after week arse rape by refs will ensure they get there.

Good call Stephen. I have had a gut full of the way the refs are doing .. or should I say NOT doing there job. How can you have one calling "Roosters Ball" and the other calling "Broncos Ball". They are so pathetic.

Yep refs were disgraceful today. Also find it funny that we win a penalty count easily the same week an article about how many penalty counts we've lost in the last 4 years.

One of these days, one of our players will get so frustrated at the shocking reffing decissions that he will deck a ref. I know after the rubbish we get week in, week out I feel like doing it.

Did one of the refs definitely say Roosters ball? I haven't heard or seen the footage since the match, but it's one thing to give Braith an average explanation for a try. If they flat out lied to him, though, in saying 'no, I said Broncos ball' they surely have some explaining to do?

Well one of them said, 'Roosters ball' then they yelled out Broncos ball? WTF, are the refs on these days, NRL is becoming a joke. If it was a Broncos ball he was held then and there, one of the dumbest decisions in history.

Yep you definitely hear him call out roosters ball, while the other then comes in going broncos ball, embarrassing stuff.
