Robinson knows best. He founded the Roosters in 1908.

I don't understand why we would need to shed any more players to create cap space. Where did the $3m+ go that we had in our "War Chest" from the departure of 5 well paid players?

Reported in Tele today that it's between the Broncos and the Dogs and that the "Roosters' bid is collapsing" whatever the hell that means (I assume "not inflating" - which is good).

I don't see why the Roosters would want him as a half, he just doesn't compliment Walker and we are stacked with promising juniors in the halves who would be pretty pissed at having their path to first grade blocked off.

Offering him the 9 is the only move that makes sense. If he doesn't want it then so be it..
Agreed and can see him going to the Doggies as they're on the rise while we're looking for a stop-gap solution for Walker/Cheese. However, I dunno if that's where he sees hinself.

Ironically I reckon that's his best chance at a premiership though. Like if he backs himself... then he could get our current squad into the top-4 by July when Cheese & Walker return. From there he could do a lot of things...

Fortunately we've already signed Townsend, who has a premiership to his name. We'll see how he goes but IMO he may be the better fit as he could be more willing to be a stop-gap solution. Not quite sure what happened with him in NQ but I don't think we should write him off as being a flog compared with Hunt.

We don't need another quasi 9. It's a specialist position.

i dont disagree with this - i think Sandon / Watson interchanging at 9 (if we sign Hunt) is the most likely outcome. we have multiple players that can play 13, and i am not sure Sandon is ready to be an NRL 6 everyweek just yet. Doesnt mean he wont be one day, doesnt mean he is going to be shown the door - but i think he will be better in the long run with more time. His is still just 21, and played 29 games (most just a few minutes off the bench), so there is no rush to give him the time to develop.

Id rather he got the time he needs, than thrown to the wolves!

It’s a sad day when a player chooses the bulldogs over the roosters.

Once again, just goes to show how much we’ve fallen over the last few years with recruitment

can't see us landing him tbh. he doesn't really want to play 9 , he won't be playing 7 once Sam is back unless we are brainless and do something that will jeopardise Walkers desire to stay and are prepared to sacrifice a 23 year old half for a 34 year old.

When you look at our roster compared to the bulldogs you would have to say he's going to think he's a better chance at the dogs to win a premiership than us - unfortunately that's the reality of it - we don't have a solid 9 7 or 6 for the next 9 months and you can't win a premiership with what our spine is going to look like. Dogs are on the up and we are on the wane.

I don't like putting up the white flag so quickly on our prospects for 25/26 and live in hope but the reality of it is we need 3 or 4 very good signings to be a threat in the short term.
