None of our forwards were as good after Origin as before. They were good enough for the lessor sides but couldn't handle Penrith or Storm. May hits and spins on most hit-ups and doesn't go through the line like he can when he keeps running with power. Collins rarely worries the defence and they have learnt to team up on Spencer because he's the main one they have to worry about when he's on. Radley is less effective playing on an edge but then again, he isn't getting penalized as much. We will really miss JWH but I think he probably went a year too long.

Just bring in DLS and let him learn against the men, what more is he going to gain playing Reggies.

Name one player who isn’t playing for financial benefits? Yes some love the club etc but there is very little club loyalty now as it’s become a business for the player and the agent to get as much $ as they can in a short career
aubo / cords and friend all got paid - they didn’t play for free
people will stay at clubs like the roosters for less money for premierships etc as long as their pay is close to what they could get

They’re all playing for money that’s not disputed here. May however said he didn’t like playing rugby league and often felt like quitting. Maybe he’s said other unpublished things which has led the club to decide he’s not a safe investment.

Terrell May prepares to take legal action against online fan groups

Sydney Roosters star Terrell May is preparing to launch legal action against online fan groups spreading ‘damaging’ rumours in the wake of the shock revelation that he is unwanted at the Bondi club.

This masthead understands that Terrell’s manager David Rawlings and his lawyers have issued three cease and desist notices to popular Facebook supporter groups in recent days.

May’s team is preparing to take further legal action against at least one of the NRL fan pages on social media.

May was sensationally tapped on the shoulder last week by the Roosters, telling the 25-year-old he is free to explore the open market about an immediate move away from Bondi just six months after he agreed to a two-year extension.

The shock development sent the rumour mill into overdrive, creating speculation that coach Trent Robinson’s willingness to offload May had to do with off-field issues rather than a desire to reshape his roster.

One rumour falsely implicated May’s teammate and his partner.

Rawlings told this masthead that May is prepared to hold online trolls to account.

“The business transactions of rugby league often end up in the public domain, and of course where there is limited information on hand it’s natural to speculate,” Rawlings said.

“However, when speculation becomes reputable and personally damaging – we won’t tolerate it.

In September an NRL player poll survey by News Corp Australia, in partnership with the RLPA, revealed around 14 per cent of players still face either racial or targeted abuse.

May is currently touring England with the Samoan side but is expected back in Australia on Wednesday. Rawlings and May will meet later this week to discuss his options on the open market.

May won’t be short of options in trying to find a new home with three Sydney clubs already reaching out to his manager to express interest in his service for 2025 and beyond.

Clubs like the Wests Tigers, Canterbury and St George Illawarra are among the clubs in the market for a middle forward.

Newcastle is shaping as an option for May if the Knights fail to lock-in forward Leo Thompson, who is one of the most sought after free agents on the market.

I don’t know anyone who could possibly have heard any of Mays interviews and not understand the connection between the reasoning supposedly given for his off loading.
Makes sense to me.
He has natural ability and a work ethic driven by money not the desire to win at all costs.. which is ok, but obviously not enough for what the management wants.
We don’t know the little things that go on behind closed doors.
They may be subtle, but enough for the staff to note that this is not the type of player they need in the front row.
When I heard his interviews, I wasn’t impressed, he isn’t someone I’d want to go into battle with.
Unless you are there day in and out, then it’s hard to know really.
The only real question is whether this was known before he re-signed.
But I might be way off.

I agree with what you are saying about his motive for playing. What he has said during past interviews is less than an impressive, however I dont see him as a leader within the team so it doesn't bug me that much. Couple that with his undervalued (imo) contract and his onfield output in a position with little depth I am still a bit perplexed.
