With JAC gaaaawn it makes me wonder if the Doggies can simply offer him more now (couldn't earlier?) and we want SST ahead of him as he plays more consistently for longer minutes. Just a theory.

One thing that resonated with me from a recent interview May did is that he reckons everybody from the housos wants to either be a millionaire or stay around as a houso... nobody wants to get outta the houso by working a normal job. Makes me wonder if that's his style and that Robbo's looking for somebody a bit more reflective and focussed on the little things rather than an insanely good player who doesn't care about the theory / 9-5 grind / little things that he's all about as a coach.

Makes me reflect on guys like Lodge and Crichton. Management seems quite happy to give stars a tap on the shoulder for reasons we're not 100% certain of. Meanwhile guys like Billy Smith are safely pocketing upwards of $350k a year to rehab their injuries.

I suspect that management see a lot of stuff that we don't and it's not always on-field performance or the lack of off-field incidents that drives these decisions. Otherwise our team might have kept a few more characters along the way.
