Agree. But just want to add that I'd like to see more use of grubber kicks especially in slippery conditions.

It’s going to be a tough year next year with a backline of

    Teddy
    Toups
    Smith? Mark N
    Toia? Mark N
    Young
    Sandon
    Townsend.

I don’t know what happens if we get injuries which we will.

On the flip side Toia, Quentin Smith or Mark N could be sensational.

Kicking game can turn a poor set into a great one. So is pretty key to Storm and Panfers being so dominant.

take your point, it’s not everything but it’s a pretty sizeable advantage

He has quite a big boot so in that regard he goes well. Just a bit worried about his defence, as in the last few years especially it’s gotten really poor. I remember in 2021 when we won against the sharks (a come from behind win) Sam Walker in a breakout performance absolutely schooled Chad and made him look like a fool in defence. That was a great game.

Hopefully he adds a bit of Gordon-esque maturity to our game without the side-hustle.

Personally I haven't really noticed the guy or his style despite him being a premiership winning journeyman.

    The Cows say:
He has provided a stabilising presence on the field as well as being an invaluable mentor for our players.

“We wish him, Marissa and their family the very best for their return home to NSW.”

While this may be a nuance for 'he is a little bit past it', I tend to think they're not bullshyting. He's from the Shire, has done his job of mentoring there and is now onto his next project.

Not sure why the Cows can't perform with their roster. However, Dearden has developed into one of the best halves in the comp. Dunno what (if any) role Townsend played but fingers crossed some of that kinda magic dust rubs onto Walker/Sandon.

    started a topic Chad Townsend

    Chad Townsend

Can someone tell me how his long range kicking goes?

I feel like all the old half backs that do well have great short and long kicking games?

Sammy has the short covered, was hoping Chad had a good long kick in him?
