Firstly the 2024 NRL Fullback of the year (and 1 point away from being the Dally M Player of the year), gets dropped from the Australian Team in favour of Tom 'Taped Together' Turbo.

Now the 2024 NRLW Dally M Player of the year and Premiership winning second rower Olivia Kernick is dropped from the Australian Team in favour of Kezie Apps who has been out all year with a serious knee injury.

The Australian selectors are dead set smoking the 'Devil's Lettuce'.....Obviously consistent good form is not a contributing factor at the selection table.

still don’t understand why as he has been carrying injuries and his last few games that was noticeable.

Dylan Edwards has been picked at fullback.
I’m okay with that, he has been playing well and the panthers have won 4 premierships in a row.

I think Trbojevic has been picked because he can cover fullback in case of injury and he can also cover centre and wing if need be as well. Teddy would just be a backup fullback so it makes sense to pick Trbojevic especially when limited to just 21 players for the entire tournament.

Plus, these upcoming rep games should be to find the best available team for the 2026 World Cup, it's unlikely that a 33 year old Tedesco will play in the World Cup.

100% agree with that. Teddy can have some time off to recharge the batteries and a have full off-season, which can only be a good thing for us in 2025. I reckon he had a point to prove this year after being dropped from Origin, so being dropped from his role as the Australian captain after a such stellar year will probably drive him even more next year. Donald Duck the so called coach had this to say " "I've spoken to all the incumbents and obviously they are all disappointed. They all know what they have to work on to put their hand up for World Cup selection in two years time"

Complete nonsense to pick Kezzi Apps and say oh they are a co captain so that's why they were picked - hasn't played since round 2 so on what basis form wise could they be selected on. - none

In the Jillaroos squad there are 6 other players who are captains of their NRLW sides

A likely run on 13 would include Isabelle Kelly Roosters Captain - Ali Brigginshaw - Broncos Captain - Simaima Taufa - Raiders Captain - Tamika Upton - Knights Co-Captain.

Reminds me of the English Cricket in the late 70's - Mike Brealey was only picked for his captaincy when his batting would never have got him selected.

Isabelle Kelly / Ali Brigginshaw and Simaima Taufa are better captains in any case.

Something more to this as obviously Donald Duck hasn't watched many NRLW games - even said Olivia played from the bench for NSW this year - Started all 3 games and played every minute of the NRLW season - picking up the NRLW Dally M player of the year , one of the second rower spots in the NRLW Team of the Year. and of course the NRLW Premiership Ring.

cyldesdale a 2nd rower can also cover in the centres. for a 3 game comp the team has 3 specialist centres and 2 2nd rowers who can play in the centres. i think we're more than covered. murphy looks a pretty good player but to pick her and clydesdale ahead of liv is crazy. and like ks said, liv started all 3 games in origin, started at 13, showing her versatility. does the coach watch the games? not knocking someone scoring tries 9 years ago but don't 2 great individual tries in a gf a few days ago count?
