top 4 would be a terrific over achievement. next year has 2016 written all over it - lots of experienced players leaving, our half out for most of the season (worse than 2016 when pearce was 'only' out for 8 weeks), a senior forward out for most of the season (worse than 2016 when cordner was out for 7 weeks). to expect top 4 is putting the bar way too high.
but i'm optimistic it will be more 2021 than 2016 and if we can make the 8, stay injury free, and have walker and smith back and firing when it matters, we might get some joy

Going to need a dummy half for half or more of the 2025 season with Brandon Smith in Rehab with the ACL injury and possibly beyond 2025 if Brandon Smith is not re-signed.

Important Pre-season coming up to fill the positions of players who have left and are on the injured list and in the 30 player squad -22 confirmed for 2025 so up to 8 spots to fill

Other Central Coast players making their way through the pathways to NRL include
        • Blake Steep - 1 NRL game as a replacement
        • Ethan King - 1 NRL game as a replacement
        • Robert Toia
        • Benaiah Ioelu
        • Jake Elliot
Not many still rate Sandon Smith

The gap between us and the Storm and Panthers might widen next season as the next wave of youngsters have to find their feet in first grade, the likes of May, Whyte, Wong, Smith are going to have to take another big jump forward for this team to even remain competitive next season.

Its also highly likely that we will need to wait till 2026 till Walker regains his confidence and best form again.

There is a heap of talent coming through the academy but it might be a while before they become battle hardened NRL footballers.

I tend to agree, just miss top 8 in 2025, probably 10th to 14th or so. Rebuild from next year to make finals a few years later.

We have many proven players who are very highly rated and can win the day for us. Some players we are losing have served us well but also tied us down due to ordinary form. Keary is not a great loss. He’s done well but I’m glad he’s moving on. Manu is a loss but has not been in top form much. Suuali I miss his goal kicking but don’t feel he’s a loss.

Many of our players going into 2025 I would give them a rating between 1-10.

Tedesco - 9 and a great asset in attack
Toups 9 our highest try scorer
Young - 8 but improving in both attack and defense. Another try scorer.
Pauga 8 an excellent back up try scorer and winger
Mark N - 8-9 would make a great centre to replace Manu and knows how to catch a high ball
Walker - 9 Is very talented and can set up tries, score them, grubber in goal, kick goals and field goals.
Sandon Smith - 7 but learning
Brandon Smith - 8-9 at his best.
connor Watson - 8-9 great player
Angus Crichton - 9.5 a really awesome player
Collins - 7.5 - 8 his form has not been good since origin.
Leniu - 8 a player who loves to hit hard.
Radley 9.5 one of the best
Billy Smith - 7-8 if he keeps getting injured we need to replace him. No good to us always injured.
May, Wong , Whyte 7-8 learning the ropes
Butcher - 5 Not big enough, tries but big forwards rush him and gain 15 meters.

If I overlooked anyone just add your views.

our team next year, even with our losses I see as a 8 1/2 rated team which can easily make the top 4 injuries/suspesions aside and only our errors can really stop us. As for Riff and Storm. I don’t know except if we can cut down on errors drastically and get much more possession, our chances might improve to be able to beat them.
Unfortunately I think we well & truely miss the 4 & will be lucky to make the 8. The problem will be that we are several games outside the 8 by the time Smith & Walker are back. Watson not a Hooker & it’s a waste playing him there. Smith & Townsend unfortunately don’t fill me with confidence & we lose 2 outside backs & bring in 1, but then lack depth there.
Toops had a career best year which I can’t see happening again with not much help beside him. Christine best year ever which doubtful he does again. Teddy was sensational but he struggled when he has to do it all himself & that’s what I see next year. Lenui proved why he’s a bench player as he’s simply not a starter. Whyte,May hopefully keep improving, but at full strength I see us around 6-8, so being well of the pace early I see that as an issue.

Apparently coach Robbo doesn't believe this was our last chance this year to win a title for some time. He said this in a pre game interview during the year.

                Wait and see I guess.

Hope he has a couple of experienced signings up his sleeve.

At this stage it's impossible to predict anything with all this experience leaving & fresh blood coming in.

Bigger question is ( here I go again) is Robbo.

What will he bring? How will he change us?
How will he find a way to make us a genuine force again?

Year 13 coming up for him.

Nothing instills any confidence in me with his same old coaching of the team.

Ye I think a top 4 isn’t out of the question. I think the centres next year are going to impress in Toia, Mark and Billy. While Sandon Smith isn’t the best tackler he seems to be better than Keary at reading WHO to tackle which should help our defence a bit. I think it will come down to how bad will we be with most likely Chad at 7, who has been atrocious this year. I mean you kinda have to be if ur dropped by Jake Clifford

Really looking forward to next year just to see some of our young guns coming through. No expectations unless we make a couple of big signings in the off season. But I think they will come in 2026.
I think we should make top 8 but we have to keep in contact until Walker and cheese come back.
Excited to see how Marky, Toia, Steep, Wong, Vaa boys and possibly Elliot go with more NRL games.
Hoping Billy stays injury free and Ebutch has a breakout year.

Exactly maybe the lack of expectation might work in our favour next year
                            everyone will
                            presume we will fall away
tbh Not many teams below us look like they will be any better either

                                The goals for 2025
obviously injury luck at the right time of year
                                - hopefully Teddy, Watson, Angus and rads continue 2024 form
                                - walker gets back to his best again post injury and cheese finds something - if imagine cheese will come out strong looking got another contract somewhere
                                - Marky n finds his feet at right centre and forms a good combo with young / young will top the try scoring if we find him
                                - Billy smith and toia get luck with injuries
                                - Collins gets back to earlier form
                                - Wong and Whyte stamp their mark and position in the 17 and start dominating
                                - find a few new guys with toia, Rodwell, Elliot, Vaa bros,
and steep step up when required and start pushing some of the main guys
