kelly named and sergis and aiken a chance ... if we were playing the sharks we might have been able to rest people who probably need to rest but v the knights it's probably best to throw the dice. with aiken and one of kelly or sergis we'll be competitive.
will have to wait until the 24 hour update to know where we stand - have all 3 fit and playing and we'd be warm favourites; have all 3 out and it will be backs v the wall stuff

Are Tarryn and Jess a realistic chance of playing again this year?

I hate the fact the NRLW finals are one and done if you have a bad game, which our women’s team is renowned for (who can forget Parra ughhhh). Surely gotta be time for a 1v2; 3v4 two-week finals series before the GF

Have to wait until 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Roosters, other than with Isabelle Kelly's injury, are keeping strum about the extent of Jessica Sergis's knee injury sustained in round 3 and Tarryn Aiken's AC shoulder injury sustained in round 7.

I know the clubs wanted 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4 and even a 5 team final series since their are 10 teams this year - all to do with funding though - The NRLW Season is only funded for a 6 week pre-season and 11 week season - 9 rounds and 2 weeks of finals.

SOO is played before the NRLW season starts - 3 game series this year - Need to play these games during the season - standalone games

There is a big gap now between NRLW Seasons especially for the NSW Based NRLW players - late May/Early June 2025 is when they will be coming back to pre-season training as the NSWRL Harvey Norman Women's Premiership is no longer played before the NRLW Season. - Played mostly alongside the NRLW Comp.

A number played in the QLD BMD Women's premiership which ran from 2nd March to 25th May to get game time in as otherwise it's 7 months before pre-season starts. The NRLW season started on 25th July

Nest year there will be 12 teams - not heard what the finals set up will be - top 5 or 6

Thanks mate. Yeah with 12 teams they’d have to go to a top 5 at minimum I reckon.

the current setup has effectively made it pointless finishing 1st or 4th.

yeah, huge news. looks like sergis, kelly and aiken are all a chance of playing and two of them are guaranteed of playing (you're not going to carry a crock as 18th player). hopefully they're fit and able but taking some risk is not crazy - without all 3 we would be up against it.
knights have been the benchmark but are ripe for the picking. looking forward to this

Geez Mia Wood is unlucky to miss out she has been excellent so far this season, Sergis feels like a roll of the dice if they are behind in the 2nd half if she was truly ready she would be starting.

John Strange has finalised his side to take on the Newcastle Knights.

Tarryn Aiken moves into the Halfback position, with Jocelyn Kelleher moving to Five-Eighth. Brydie Parker moves onto the wing making Mia Wood the 18th person.

Jessica Sergis returns from her knee injury sustained in Round 3 from the interchange bench.

Interesting to see how all 3 go - Tarryn Aiken , Jessica Sergis and Isabelle Kelly.

Sharks surprisingly keeping the Broncos to 0 - 14-0 with less than 4 to go

Isabelle Kelly playing with a ruptured ligament in her elbow.

Crazy that the way the elbow had to be strapped that she can't properly straighten her arm.

Be some effort to get through the match let alone play in the first place - Not sure of the Fitness of Tarryn Aiken and Jessica Sergis either - Hopefully they also get through the game. Defence will be a key and the Roosters need to get on top of the Knights pack - dominate yardage and field position.
