I agree. He seems to be easy pickings for the opposition defenders these days. Gets smashed way too often for a big guy. He needs to lift his game if we are to win a semi or three. He set the bar very high for himself last season. Nobody could ever question his effort though.

But he got bashed last week against the Raiders forwards, which is concerning heading into the Finals minus JWH in week 1..

The good news about this game not really meaning anything (unless the Riff lose to the Titans, which they won't) is that we can try things out.
Blooding Va'a, Mark N (and Dockar-Clay) pre-finals may just be a masterstroke if they come good. There will be lessons for them to learn no doubt but Mark N can carve up the All Blacks' defence... IMO he'll have no problem putting metres on NRL clubs.
IMO we can still win this without walker as we've got the forwards and backs to beat anybody (and Penrith's without Cleary so there's really no excuses!!!)
Watson's (respectfully) been better than Cheese anyway so I reckon it's same-same there. ZDC hasn't been a poor man's option either.
I reckon all we'll miss in Walker's (admittedly good) short kicking game and conversion kicking skills (though Sua'ali'i kicks alright! Too bad he was out last week as we coulda won with him as the spare boot - not that Keary struck it poorly).
If anything I hope the boys rally around the injured players and dig deep during finals. It's farkin' soft if we play like shyte just because Walker, Rads and Cheese are out. As a fan I'm not gonna accept any excuses of that nature and I doubt Robbo's gonna be making them either.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

It's a very good excuse to simplify our game and just blast up through the middle. We are at out best when we play that way, and only look to spread the ball once we've conclusively earned the right. Collins, Spence, May, Gus, Sitili, Whyte & young DLS should be more than good enough to dominate the ruck and lay the foundations for a good win.

Robbo's critics will sledge his coaching no matter what but I'm happy to back him if he goes all in with his tactics/selection.
We needed to toss up something new for finals anyway...

I was just tossing around ideas in my head last night, and trying to play devils advocate on why we can win the comp. If you take it game-by-game, there's no specific game that looks unwinnable. Just looks tough to win 3 in a row if you look too far ahead.
