Watched him the Orign Under 19's game and he looked a good prospect and has also had some nice touched in NSW Cup. I know Sandon is pencilled in for next season but wondering whether Elliott might end up leap frogging him. Any other Roosters fans out there watched a heap of him and have an opinion?

Robbo has spoken glowingly about Elliot and a few other of the young halves in the development pipeline but has also made it pretty clear Sandon gets first crack as Keary's replacement in 2025 and its up to him to perform well enough to keep the spot.

It makes it hard when he barely plays any footy. He's better off staying in reserve grade for the remainder of the season instead of getting thirteen minutes, or no minutes, in first grade.Originally posted by fletch View PostRobbo has spoken glowingly about Elliot and a few other of the young halves in the development pipeline but has also made it pretty clear Sandon gets first crack as Keary's replacement in 2025 and its up to him to perform well enough to keep the spot.

I find it beyond hard you would get excited about anythingOriginally posted by Easts75 View PostI'm finding it beyond hard to get excited about Sandon being first choice heading into 25. It's going to be a very very hard watch seeing Walker and Smith kicking from deep in our own end.

Rodwell is very exciting, still got another year in SG Ball next year so think he's still a few years off first grade.Originally posted by Inflictor View PostWhat is Jake's contract situation? I can't find it anywhere.
Interesting that we signed Rodwell until 2028.
He stopped playing after the SG ball comp to focus on HSC but has been selected as halfback for the Aus Schoolboys.
Rex Bassingthwaigte (spelling?) is the other realy exciting young talent coming through. Not sure where he sits for next year but would be the fullback for SG Ball if we manage to keep him.
Lots of other really good prospects coming through but along with Steep these are the two you'll hear the most about and understand the hype around Rodwell watching him play SG ball this year.

I must admit I have never seen Rodwell play. What's his size (admittedly still only 19 years old) and does he have a long kick?Originally posted by Rooster_6 View Post

Sandon, Elliot, Rodwell. Something has to give in the next 3-4 years if not sooner.

Cronk was a proven winner, yes he didn't have a big boot either but obviously had every other attribute requiredOriginally posted by Rooster_6 View Post
As opposed to the long kicking games of Cronk and Keary?
Keary and Walker largely havent worked have they ?? I'd deem their pairing a pass mark just.but we've been off the pace for a few years now
2 Small halves with zero long kicking game and like 13 mentioned a defensive worry....can you honestly see them taking this team anywhere further than what we've done recently

Doubt it. He’s just a worse Keary. No way we would have let Keary retire while still on contract then let him go to France if the plan was Chad. He himself has said he’s coming to support Sandon and Sam. They’d also be alienating Sandon if they give first crack to ChadOriginally posted by Rooster_Mark View PostWhether people like it or not, Chad Townsend will be wearing 6 next season, not Sandon Smith.
