  • NRL Round 18 Judiciary Update: JWH Decision Made

The Sydney Roosters have tonight been unsuccessful in contesting the Grade Two Careless High Tackle charge against Jared Waerea-Hargreaves at the NRL Judiciary.

The Club entered a plea of guilty for Waerea-Hargreaves after he was cited for an incident that occurred in the 17th minute of the Roosters’ Round 18 clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons, but opted to contest the charge, which the NRL Judiciary did not accept at a hearing this evening.

As a result, Waerea-Hargreaves will be unavailable for four matches, and will be available for selection for the Sydney Roosters’ Round 25 match against the Gold Coast Titans.

Should have took the early plea - very long odds for a downgrade

Even the bloke that defended OJ Simpson in court in 1995 would've struggled to downgrade JWH tonight.

        It is what it is.

That would be because he is dead.

Couldn’t agree more another dumb act by this guy that lets the team down

Leaves an even more sour taste in my mouth. We will cope without him, but an unjust penalty on him and the club.

Do you think that the decision to contest the grading was solely at JWH’s discretion? That’s a little naive isn’t it?

I've lost all faith in the judiciary. So disappointing to think that they actually believe that should a grade 2, actually laughable if the incompetence wasn't such a concern.

I think the fact that he is a repeat offender didn’t help in terms of the penalty.

Not a good result for our club.
