Who should officiate Origin matches?

We all know the bullshit that went on last night and to be honest it probably wont stop in a hurry but why doesnt origin adopt the same approach as in internationals. Get a neutral ref. Im not saying the ref was pro QLD or pro NSW but why not get someone from the UK or something to ref the game. Someone who is not running agendas or has any preconcieved ideas about certain players?

The idea is probably flawed but its just an idea that popped up. I reckon it couldnt hurt.

Also, I reckon Origin matches should be stand alone events where no player can lose club time for actions during a game. Lets get Origin back to where it once was. Its supposed to be the toughest and best game of league in the world but last night, for many reasons, was far from the spectacle its supposed to be.
