  • I think Toops would have to be in our top 3 last night. Yeh he did his usual thing that he does every week and some probably take this for granted. He made a lot of tough metres.

    • All of our forwards were awesome I don’t remember any of them making an error our go forward was relentless as a result Walker and Kez were able to pin the dogs in the corners.

Sitili, Wong and young Steep were great made their tackles ran hard kept the rage going all game.

Plenty of momentum swings JWH spray then legal hit forcing an error Smith with that laser like 40/20. Discipline with the ball in hand was fantastic Pauga’s tackle was unfortunate he will learn from it.

Yes, Rads discipline has definitely improved.

Looks fresh and like he could play another 80.

          Let that sink in.

Throw your dealership at him and keep him here for life.

Find me a better Front Rower.
I honestly wouldn't trade him for any other prop in the game with the way he is going lately

            • It was a real mature halfback performance from Sammy Walker last night, kept the play in between the scrum lines, limited the width of his passing, kicked extremely well and then created some opportunities for points. He gave credit to Cooper Cronk for guiding the game plan but still takes a lot of control and mental application to stick to that for the full 80 when you can see opportunities appearing out on the edges and you’ve got Joey Manu & Dom Young outside you.

The trick for Walker now is to be able to switch up strategy throughout games, if that was a drier track then you would like to think we would’ve explored a few more short side plays and a few more spreads but being able to dictate the style of play and slow the tempo of the play when required is what will truly make him a great halfback.

Feel like that was a significant step in his development last night.

The tempo aspect of his game is very important to the teams overall performance. We found the right tempo last night and played with more control. Our composure and detail suffer when Sammy is too up tempo and wants to score off every play. This spreads like wildfire throughout the team. The Cheese and Watson can add the bursts of high energy and up tempo footy when we need them! Sammy's game went to the next level last night.

As a side note. Cam Smith was the master of controlling a teams tempo. He had that aspect of his game on a string.

                • A rare night, buried some myths:
The myth that we can't play in the wet
The myth that we are poor up in Gosford..actually surely we got more wins than loses there by now
The myth that we can't play for the full 80 minutes...probably our first match in yrs that we put in for the full 80.

                  The myth not buried....the handbrake...still a myth

                  Best for Easts
                  3. Josh Curran
                  2. JWH
                  1 T May

                  Next..S Walker

                  • I have to say, Keary and Walker were terrific with the boot last night. I can't remember either of them kicking that well in general play, let alone as a pairing. Makes the game immensely easier if they perform like that. It more or less removes our predominate weakness. Massive props to Radley for handling Kikau so well, too.

There's a real "last chance saloon" look about JWH and Kez now. They are kinda sayin if we don't win this damn thing one last time together, we are gonna go down swingin.

Now we just need Joey to get that fire in the belly...in fairness I think he is trying. It just hasn't fell for him in the last few weeks. It'll come.

The kick-chase was on song as well.
Overall, it was a great team performance.

Yeh 100%, it’s not natural for him but he became happy with playing out a set without trying to score and just turning over the ball on the Bulldogs goal line.

A lot easier to defend when your opposition are rucking it out of their own end all game.

Yeh Radley was great defensively, his timing is impeccable. I thought Sammy Walker did well too.. lots of good leg tackles.

                              hard to split

                              Sammy / Jwh / Tyrell / 2ps / Keary / Curran had a blinder as well
