  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Bulldogs

It’s disappointing that we are fighting for a position on the ladder with this poor excuse of a football club. We are far superior to ‘The Family’ club who claimed ‘bred not bought’ for years. Now they take anyone who’s on the market.

Last game against them was bitterly disappointing. It’s 2 points we banked on. Today we can avenge that night by beating them well.

Can’t wait to get out to the ground and support our side. You’re nice and close to the action there. The new generation Chookpen are doing a fantastic job supporting our boys away from our home stadium. They are loud and proud.

    Kick off 530pm.

    GO ROOSTERS!

What, play well for the first 10 minutes then descend into a mistake riddled ..."rabble" is not the correct word, we are rebuilding and are doing as well as the majority of clubs.

        Mistake riddled...insert word of choice...

We know who their match-winners are ...send out the 'hit squad' to silence them...legally of course.
JWH should be told to only do bear hug tackles, and tackles using his hands not shoulders.

If the dogs make things difficult tonight it will be our own fault. Their win over us last time round gave them a lot of confidence and brought them back into the competition.

Hopefully we turn up switched on and ready to go and despite some outs, we still have a good side and should get the job done.

Family club ‘scoff choke’ they have Penrith to thank for the side they field these days coach and head of football Ops Burton Chrichton Kikau this club has no idea how to develop they have been a basket case for a decade, however I’m genuinely glad they’re a competitive side, bloody hell our rivalry with them 02-05 seems like a lifetime ago, was at the same level it is with Souffs made for a lot awesome games packed stadiums and plenty of riots.

Cmon boys even under strength we should be too much, Manu to have a blinder let’s boot the We Lose we Riot, We win we Riot scum back down the ladder.

Huge opportunity for us with the Dolphins going down last night. The boys have spoken recently about a focus on starting fast. If we do that and don’t allow the Dogs to get into the game early, we should be too strong.

We need a big game from May. He’s been a bit quiet lately for mine. I’d like to see him play longer minutes and lift his intensity today.

Btw, if we win this evening, do we temporarily move into 2nd on the ladder?

That would be a nice feeling for all of five mins.

The question is, do I watch the game live?
Do I have time to get drunk enough to deal with the game managers?

There's a lot to be said for watching the replay the next day........................result depending of course.
I still haven't recovered from the cowgirls loss and can't digest the fact that they decreed it's now illegal to tackle around the legs.

Wonder how brave I'll feel this arvo.
Live games are gonna give me a heart attack.

Dogs are playing good footy and we have shown we can have complete lapses. This may be a tricky one. Don't care how we get it, but a win is needed.

I woke up this morning after having dreamt that Jennings scored two tries today. I then realised that he's not playing. I need better dream management.

The Dogs are not an easy team to beat, and they are confident. Minimise our error rate (obviously) and we shall win. Having Pauga starting is a good thing.

Gosford today: Chance of any rain: 90%. Chance of a thunderstorm as well.

Let’s hope the rain holds off so we can use our backs
dogs with Burton and kikau will be tough they scrap for everything which we don’t this year
they are missing critchon, JAC, Preston and xerri though
we have the origin reps out but expecting big games from the cheese to make up for the club, Teddy who will be disappointed being dropped! And our right edge with young and also Manu let’s hope walker can get them singing
rads will hold Kikau better then anyone else
hard to guage but guessing you will tell how we are going to play after the first 10 min
big chance to get back to top 4 with tigers, dragons and bye coming

hope sitili and Wong can also show something today to show why they should be considered back to first grade
expect big minutes from jwh / may and Whyte

if jwh and teddy get though today jwh 306th next week to tie with aubo club record and teddy 150th for chooks next weekend
