  • The Robbo haters

Can I say to the Robbo haters, and with lesser of a tone than I'm right and you're wrong - I'm trying to move away from that - and also to the multitude of critics we have on here from everything to player retention, player development, why didn't we sign that guy, and god knows what else.

Can you just watch the media interview this week linked below?

He talks about many things, a lot about Brandon Smith, and the Sualli penalty, and more.

Honestly, if you can watch this and not understand or appreciate the fact that this is the best coach we've ever had, then I guess we disagree.

The most vocal Robbo hater has been missing for over a week now.

I agree BBR. Robbo is all class, has a passion for the game and our club and players.

          Always love his interviews.
It sounds like everything is sweet with Cheese said he came in on Monday business as usual and had a great week and should be back into it next week.
Yet some still prefer to believe their reliable Facebook sources from people they wouldn't have a clue who they are that the players hate him and he won't be playing for us again and he skipped the meeting on purpose to get the sack and join Bennett at Souffs after he recently took up his option.

          Laughable at what some believe.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I believe he talks a big game.

He should have this roster on top of the ladder.

I like Robbo. He's a great coach and would make a very good politician.

This roster, finally injury-free, should be pushing Penrith bloody hard for the comp. Not making the GF would be a failure. Every other team in the comp has plenty of flaws. None of them scare me except a fit and firing Riff.

yes he has diplomatic qualities but politics is very different. he'd make a good politician if politics was less partisan.

robbo put to bed the idea that the cheese has gone off

Injuries have played their part - As I said on another post 15 of Brisbane and Penrith's best 17 played 20 or more games last year during the regular season- Roosters only 9 or so which was the lowest of any of the top 8 last year.

Players can fill in for a game here and there across a season but it can become an issue if it's a long term replacement for a top 17 player.

Big Jack Gibson would never play a replacement player in back to back games. Be a different player the next game- Reg Clough and John Rheinberger come to mind as an example of that.

The days are long gone of having two first grade sides

Tomorrow no Suaalii , Young , Brandon Smith and throw in Billy Smith so another game where the Roosters don't field a best 17.

He's been spending more time in the burrow now that they've won a couple of games.

I like Robbo too. I like the way he speaks. I think he speaks in reverse to the media - almost the opposite of what he really thinks. For eg “we are really clear about our style” . When we play and in the pressure moments we fold. Take poor options, concede penalties , give away possession. Often happens even when no pressure is applied. I think Robbo is really struggling. It’s like we have to be perfect to win. Premiership winning teams win when they play poorly, play busted, players out injured. Premiership winning teams get the job done no matter what and play with that mindset. Not talk with that mindset.

I think Robbo’s greatest strength is his philosophical approach to the game - making young men better people and that is a valuable and attractive asset. After all it is just a game and becoming a mature person in life is far more important than winning games of football.

Im not sure he is turning them into better footballers and a better football team though. But that will be for the board to decide as time passes. I do like Robbo

A good politician? I have a Harbour Bridge to sell you if you believe in nation state propaganda.

If you told me in 2013 that a rookie coach that i never heard of before would win 3 premierships in 10 years and miss the playoffs just once, i would have thought you're dreamin. I mean we had to wait 27 years after 1975 just to win one!

The usual half a dozen or so here will always attack Robbo after a loss- thats ok, everyone is allowed a opinion.

Whats ironic is half of them only went after Robbo's head when he said we shouldn't boo Latrell or he stuck up for Manlys rainbow jersey.

It was "coach woke" (as they put it) that annoys them more than his record as coach. As i said, everyone is allowed an opinion.....including disgruntled old white Klansmen who fear the end of the Mesozoic Era!

I don't think anyone can deny that he is intelligent and a great communicator.

I was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times some years ago now. He is all class. I really like the guy.

But at the end of the day he is there to get results. The Rooster's board put it all on a platter for him. He needs to deliver.
