Yeah what happened to those Du Plessis boys back in the day? (JP Du Plessis or something?) [Edit: looks like he's gad a relatively lacklustre career but is on a decent contract playing ruby in 'Murrica, see https://djcoilrugby.com/2021/12/30/n...plessis-2022/]

What was the other whats-iz-name called again? Tuivasa-Sheck I think. He was okay I guess...

IMO it's worth a crack trying to use a guy who's a solid physical specimen and would earn a salary that won't come outta our cap. There's nothing to lose outta it unless he turns out to be a Carter/Watts (which I find highly unlikely).

Finally a media story that’s not tabloid fuelled hate/drama.
Love the fact Wooldridge is from the motor city the home of Motown, Ford and The Stooges. Motown founder Berry Gordy worked on an assembly line in Detroit and used that business logic with creating the sound of Motown.
        More synchronicity with the Roosters.
This link shot in the Ford Factory in 65 with the classic Mustang assembly line featuring Martha and the Vandellas singing “Nowhere to Run”.
At the 2018 GF DJ Stephen Ferris played it when we had the game in the bag. A magic moment shared with my daughter.
The clip … one of the best videos and ahead of its time.

For a moment there I thought we'd signed the former Liberal parliamentarian.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

The Roosters did have 2 or was it 3 American players playing in what was NSW Cup in the latish 1990's I recall. I think Bernie Gurr had something to do with bringing them over.

Not according to Mickie. He would make a great addition at souffs.

IMO the physical element is also important.

Think Lou Goodwin. He captained our U20's, won that NRL Rookie show and then played for Mounties. Everything ended when he broke 2 ACLs and a thumb at the same time (how?)

They scrapped the NRL Rookie concept after that. IMO this is a similar scheme but for outsiders who are more physically gifted. Be interesting to see whether it's more successful...

Hopefully it doesn't turn into a Greg Smith style failure. He was a NFL player who had one game with the knaughts in 1999, and calling it a shocker would be putting it lightly.

                            > A rugby league curiosity, Smith came to the Knights from America in 1999 on the strength of being an ex-Philadelphia Eagles NFL player. Smith was promoted to first grade by coach Warren Ryan and played on the wing in a club match against the Bulldogs. Smith’s poor defence saw the Knights lose the match narrowly and it was later revealed that he had never played NFL in America at any level. Smith quickly disappeared from sight.

Sounds like he mighta been a good salesman?

Never played rugby league or made a tackle.
