I mentioned in a few thread that when I gamble, I gamble against the chooks, so that either way the game goes, I'm still happy.

I started that ever since I placed $500 on the chooks to win against the broncos in the 2000 grandfinal. I couldn't sleep for days after that.

Footy isn't/shouldn't be determined by gambling results.

These things, glaring reffs errors, have been part of the game for over 100yrs now.

The variables, 34 players, 5 officials, weather, injuries etc there's so much that can have an effect on the outcome, refs mistakes are just one variable.

The record books still say woManly won, no matter what Harrigant says after the event.

No refunding of money to someone who CHOSES to lay a bet, KNOWING full well what they are getting into, KNOWING full well the RISKS and VARIABLES involved.

I have nothing against gambling, I just see no point in even asking for a refund in this instance.

          well said ^^

I don't bet but if I did I'd always do it for the opposition.... therefore whether we win or lose I'd have something to take from it.

Wis man. Hedging is the way to go.

Hence why I made a nice profit in the 2010 Gf and will do tonight if QLD win. Eases the pain of a loss a tiny bit.

The bookie Waterhouse now pays first past the post and on rulings after protests,so you never know in the future it could be another way for a bookie to be more popular.Money back for absolute disgracefull calls would also be a form of ass kicking for the refs.

At sportsbet.com.au we have tonight paid out more than $100,000 to punters who backed New South Wales at the line (which gave NSW a 5.5 point head start) after the controversial end to tonight’s opening game of the 2012 State of Origin series.
Punters who backed NSW at the line with sportsbet.com.au have had their bets paid as winning bets.
“The debate over Queensland’s last try will rage for some time and we think it’s only fair we pay punters who backed New South Wales at the line as they were very hard done by,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
The payout applies only to bets placed on NSW in the Line market and does not apply to live bets.
