The amount of experience leaving the club at the end of the year should be enough of a reason to re-sign the best second rower in the state.

ATM that’s his job but if he re signs for 3-4 years his job is to play well for those 4 years not wait until the next contract year again
we havnt had consistent value for money from him yet so i would be hesitant re signing him for that long
no club wanted to look at him until round 4 this year
We offered Fifita $850k a year so it's within the budget.

He will be judged by the Australian selectors as being one of the two best back rowers in the comp. If he goes, who replaces him? Nat Butcher?

Pass at 850k
I'd want to see a longer sustained period of form that warrants that pay packet, not just the last 10 rounds or so. In saying that,I know we don't really have time on our side as others will swoop. I also think 2 years would be more suitable for us

the risk is if he gets a big deal and goes missing again
would prefer 2 years or if 3/4 have the last year or two on the clubs favour to extend
yes we need to extend him but he needs to deliver this form over that time and not just have a good few months here and there

Slater didn't just drop Fifita for no reason.

Personally I don't think he's worth $850k a season, the last 2 years he has been quite ordinary and the club stood by him last year. I'm really not fussed if he goes to be quite honest, because whether we like it or not the next couple of years we will be going through a rebuilding phase and I'm sure someone will come through the ranks or management will find someone else.
There's a young Tigers forward thats looking at going to a strong club and he has huge potential.

You may not think Crichton is worth it, but there is a requirement to spend at least 97.5% of the salary cap. It is not like there is a wealth of talent on the market. We will either pay Crichton slight overs or we will be forced to pay others even higher overs.

Too inconsistent over the long term, If he wants to stay at the club then he can ask for 3 x1 years deal in the clubs favour at the money he is asking… He would have to be playing at his best to stay…Ofcourse he won’t do that as he is only consistent on contract years..Kinda reminds me of Ferguson….
