  • Roosters side vs Cowboys

    With Collins / Crichton / Suaalii /Leniu and Keary on standby the 22 player squad will take some thought with who to select - 14 at least with 2 pending fitness to play - 6 more to name at least

    Struggling to select a 17 plus 18th player let alone the required 22 players
    1. Tedesco
    2. Toops
    3. Pauga
    4. Manu
    5. Young
    6. Sandon Smith
    7. Walker
    8. JWH
    9. Brandon Smith
    10. May
    11. Nat Butcher*
    12. Radley
    13. Whyte
    14. Dockar-Clay
    15. Sitili*
    16. Wong
    17. ??
    18. ??
    19. ??
    20. ??
    21. ??
    22. ??
    * Pending fitness to play

    Options for the 17 plus 18th player - Roosters would need to obtain exemptions one would assume to include extended bench players

    * Xavier Va'a - Development contract player - available for selection
    * Ethan King
    * Hugo Savala
    * Phoenix Steinwede
    * Blake Steep

    What's going on with Napa?
    1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
    1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

      I think if Hynes declares his fitness Keary plays and Sandon Smith moves back to the bench

        They only name 19 though so one of the two reserves will be 18th player - I don't think Keary will be released to play.

        Surprised they named 2 backs as reserves and not 1 back and 1 forward - Liam Martin would be in doubt with his hammy injury. Not sure who would be on standby if Martin is unable to train let alone play.

          Not sure as he played the last game in NSW Cup vs the Warriors. You can't find any info about NSW Cup players regarding injuries etc. have to rely on people like Big Al Katzmann the Sydney Roosters Club Historian on X as he has the inside info on such matters

            Any update on Nat butch? Egan butch? Or sitili this week? We will need all 3 if available
            I think we need one of Whyte or May to start at prop and other on bench to cover front row
            back row this week only
            Nat butch
            Wong
            rads
            with Egan and Sitili on the bench with Whyte or may
            sandon smith to 14 if Keary playing and pauga left centre
            let’s hope cowboys missing tuilagi, Holmes, deardon, Nanai, cotter and Robson so there are missing 6 and us potentially 5
            expecting Teddy to send a message again

              He posts a lot on here too.

              He might be able to tell us why Sitili didn't play reserve grade.

                    Sitili didn't play this week due to HIA concussion protocols - not sure if he will be available this week

                      There has been no update on Egan but Sitili, Nat and Wong come straight back in.

                      May and Whyte will have to play bigger minutes and Rads back in the middle.

                        Watson being hurt right at this time is a bloody shame the man can cover the entire field you could put him anywhere he will do the job.

                        Very much looking forward to a couple of debuts it’s a little peek into to the future for us.

                        King if anyone is to make their debut who would it be?

                          I'd go for the following:
                          1. Tedesco
                          2. Toops
                          3. Pauga
                          4. Manu
                          5. Young
                          6. Keary (should be released)
                          7. Walker
                          8. JWH
                          9. Brandon Smith
                          10. May
                          11. Nat Butcher
                          12. Radley
                          13. Whyte
                          14. Sandon Smith
                          15. Sitili
                          16. Wong
                          17. Va'a
                          18. Zac DC

                          Still a strong side.
                          Cowgirls probably missing 5 players

                          Robson, Cotter, Nanai, Holmes, Dearden and Taulagi

                            How has Salesi Foketi been going, he looked the goods in the trial and was mentioned by Luke Keary as one to keep an eye on for the future

                              Out Injured - MCL - Roosters injury update said it was a significant MCL injury - no follow up if surgery was required but one assumes surgery was required.

                              https://www.roosters.com.au/news/202...pdate-round-5/

                              A grade 1 (mild) MCL tear usually heals within one to three weeks. A grade 2 (moderate) MCL tear generally takes four to six weeks to heal with treatment. A grade 3 (severe) MCL tear can take six weeks or more to heal with treatment. If you undergo surgery to fix your MCL tear, it could take longer.
