  • Fittler wants no part of it

Fittler just said on the Footy Show he will have no role at the Roosters next year.

Yeah, that's a shame as Brian told Gus he wants Freddy to stay involved.

Well that's disappointing. Maybe once he has time to accept the decision he may change his mind. After all, after Townsville incident, he should have known there was no chance, especially the year the club has had with off field incidents.

I too hope Freddy stays involved. Would be a shame to lose such a great clubman and someone who truly loves the Roosters. I hope he realises they threw him in too early.

        Chin up Freddy

Why would he want to be involved with a bunch of ****s who clearly disrespected him

Watching that press conference I get the feeling Freddy wanted to say he hadnt been given full control of the team.

They better let Smiff take full control, otherwise it will end in tears, that bloke is a my way or the highway sorta coach, as they should be.

Its also amazing we still have the farking "leak" rearing its ugly melon again. When will this carnt be found and have his/her tounge removed??

Get it together you dopey carnts.

I hope the changes dont just stop with the coaching structure, theres obviously some major problems all thru the club.

I would say the reverse is true with the club showing Freddy too much respect in letting him become a first grade coach before he was ready.

I hope Freddy does stay involved as he will learn heaps off Brian Smith and may still end up being a top coach some time in the future.

He said as much in the BigPond Sports interview with John Gibbs which came as quite a surprise to me. He also added that players either knew or could sense that he didn't have full control and we're able to see right through him which made it hard to coach. Watching that three part interview with Gibbs made me quite sad at what's happened to Freddy. I don't blame him for not wanting to be involved next year in any other capacity besides being a "friend" of the club as he put it quaintly.

freddy put his hand up when we needed him. it was hardly an ideal situation, what the club failed to do was give freddy the full reigns or the right help, and thats in his own words.

I think the leak may have come from Newcastles end Surely Smith would have wanted to inform them before it became public

That and the fact he could not control them either.
I have heard him say that when he was player, if the coach said to do something you did it as well as you could, you respected and feared your coach, but this generation do not fear or respect their coach

Thats the beauty of Smiff mate, he wont cop disrespect. I hope our headcases are ready.

And peoples we have the LEAK. I copped texts about this signing as did many others before the announcement, which was only made so early cos it was leaked anyway. Too many times its occured now from our club. Some carnt needs a zipping.
