  • I actually like Watson at 13 and feel like Radley is playing more like a 2nd rower this year with his harder direct running.
I said it last year when we had Turpin but I like a dummy half with quick simple service. The current team has a lot of players that just want early ball in their hands, Manu, Teddy, Walker and Keary. Don’t confuse this with a running hooker in BS.

We completed 30/37 sets to the Sharks 31/36 sets, again I think you’re misrepresenting the facts if you’re suggesting dropped balls was the difference in the game.
I also saw no issues with our attack tonight, we created plenty.

Our defence and some detail in moments is where we lost it IMO, not any of the points you raised around ball control or possession.
The thing is possession. You can’t build momentum or score if you keep handing over the ball through errors and penalties. With possession and field position we could have easily won. It’s not stats that matters most. Take Crichton’s lost ball 2 metres out from their line. A definite scoring opportunity thrown away. We lost the ball in early plays. It’s the risk style of footy which only works sometimes.

      • Lot of nitpicking here just like ref Gee String. A distinct pattern over the Robbo years with nitpicker refs. They penalise us soon after an error. That Klown in the box was in Gee strings ear all night.
The frustration by Collins told the story. A few errors namely the Tedesco allowing a 40/20 a howler and the Young one down the right side. One sided reffing but we couldn’t overcome the frustration of not being allowed into the game. A 8pointer should have been awarded tonite.Congrats to Toops. The best Easts winger in the last 50 years. Yes better than Billy Mullins who was mistake prone in the early days.

Ha Ha Ha - you really have it in for him

Lucky Nikora doesn't play for the Roosters.

Sharks second rowers vs Roosters second rowers - Running metres
          • Nikora - 80 minutes - 4 runs - 31 metres
          • Wilton - 76 minutes - 10 runs - 81 metres
          • Crichton - 80 minutes - 15 runs - 140 metres
          • Nat Butcher - 70 minutes - 9 runs - 72 metres

Nat does a lot of work in D. You can't have two Crichton or Kikau-type second rowers as who will do the D. Kikau averages 21 tackles a game, playing 80 minutes mostly, with Crichton at 26 and Nat Butcher at 42.

He must do something in a game, though, to get the following scores for his performance across the areas they use to calculate them.

You didn't just quote SC points for a basis on how a guy is going did you ??

He is Shaun Fensom ...just worse

Can't do the tough carries, ...actually doesnt even try and is too small and slow to be a threat except in games we are dominanting

Robbo said himself he was getting dropped recently if it weren't for injuries, lets hope his time comes around sooner rather than later to be put into a grade that suits him

Would.love to see a trade where we fark off both Butcher bros and get some effective

              • Young and Suaalii played strong , a couple of errors but very solid in defence. Good signs.

that game means absolutely nothing , only false hope for the sharks. Come finals time we will crush the sharks , they had the rub of the green but I always thought if the rooster could build pressure with a repeat set the sharks could not hold us.

                • Dom Young is a weapon but needs to pull his head in a little.

                  • 3. Watson (massive chance for Origen 14 unfortunately for us now)
                    2. young (I know he had an error or two but still ran strong and genuine X factor
                    1. teddy (good mtrs and tackle breaks
The 2 and 1 says more about how average a lot of the team was this week

Agree with that. Our two best performers. Mention to Pauga too who had a strong game bar getting stepped by Ramien (I think) once.

                        • Are we using Supercoach points now to assess performance? Maybe it could replace the Dally M points.

                          Actually, now you mention it..

Pauga had 2 dropped balls and fell off another 2 tackles too
still I was okay with his performance as it was others whi needed to step up that were expected too

Plays quite instinctively…tis a shame his instinct is poor. He is a phenomenal talent though, and like most years under Robbo will probably be a lot more polished by the back end of the season
