  • Walkers Next Contract

Interesting comments from his father in today’s Zero tackle article. Gets me a bit nervous.

Just copied in the link. Said he is a polite kid so he will always say he is happy at his current employer. He is not unhappy but his next contract could set him up for life and going back to QLD is always an option.

I really hope Walker is a career Rooster.

Sounds like he wants maximum return for his son, like a good dad.
We've plenty of dough and cap space, we'll outbid anyone.

These comments were from a few weeks ago, weren’t they?
              Is his dad his manager?
And didn’t his dad play for Souths?

These comments were from a few weeks ago indeed. It’s just his dad trying to boost his salary I would think. I’m not worried at all about the Titans, the main threat of poaching Sam would be the Broncos. With the Roosters ‘war chest’ and the lack of quality halves on the market, I would be very surprised if the roosters don’t resign him, even if it is on close to a mil

Sign Alf v2 up for life, I have always had serious Man love for him since he started, as I just saw Allan Langer reincarnated....and he will end up just as good if not better, mark my words lol.....he will deliver us a premiership, maybe more......

That article lacked any degree of substance.

Obviously some column inches needed to be filled.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Father talking up his son. Not too unusual.

                          It is a risk.

                          Queenzlandaars are a weird mob.

The good ones are always a flight risk, usually to the Broncs. They have a tendency to get homesick for Australia's version of Texas.

It was a miracle we got Cronk to be honest, as it was constantly discussed that he'd finish his career in QLD but luckily for us it didn't pan out that way.

I doubt his father would want him at souffs given their current abysmal state. Of course his father will be trying to get him the most coin possible, who wouldn't?

I think we all want Sam to be our long term half and I understand that a father is always going to look out for his son.

Listening to Robinson's media interviews he has indicated that the club is all in on Sam and Sandon. His recent form is only going to push his value up, imagine if we extended earlier in the year, he would be screaming out that his undervalued.
