  • Jared 300 games, for the Roosters

Let's not beat around the bush. Jared must be awfully close to being the greatest prop ever to play the game. Petero? Shane Webcke? Lazarus? Artie? Chief? Sam Burgess?

He'd own them all. And then he'd outplay them all.

Overplayed is the aggression by the moronic media. But I loved it when they asked the players to describe Jared in 3 words, lots of the other players said "nice" and "tough" and "inspirational". Brandon Smith said "Ferocious. And I feel 10 feet tall standing next to him".

Jared's foot speed and agility in defense is other worldly. Never even gets noticed. Not one of those other props listed above had anything close to his agility. That's his point of difference.

And imagine the impact he's had on our young forwards coming though. Like Radley, who just reveres Jared.

That we have had his contribution for this long, 15 years I think, we should be forever grateful.

His team mates will grow another leg tomorrow. Such is the respect they have for the Big Dog.

    Roosters 18 plus.

i'd have artie in front of him, but artie was a freak. definitely in our best starting team of all time. impossible to replace next year, but the inspiration will live on.
mini said that we're the only team with 4 players who've played 300+ with the one club. says a bit

Disagree about Artie v Jared, but fair call.

Me too. Artie was the best ever front rower in my view. He was all the things that JWH is and more. He was very agile and fast for a big man, plus he had silky ball skills..Let’s not forget that hard as nail era that Artie dominated in. JWH would be up there with the best of the modern era for sure.

This is about celebrating Jared, who you've watched dominate for 15 seasons in the modern day NRL.. And all you can do Steggles is detract from that, and argue a player who played 50 years ago was better.

How old are you? Did you see every game Artie played?
I've seen every one of Jared's.

You miserable dickhead. We have so many of you on this forum. Never started a meaningful or interesting thread in your life, but just snipe from the sidelines, claiming and pretending you know better.

I think that the Artie vs JWH comparisons are pointless because they played in different eras with different rules and different styles. Better to just accept that along with Ron Coote they are the top pigs ever to wear the RWB.

Pull your head keyboard hero. I simply responded to a comment made that JWH might be better than Beetson and gave my opinion that Beetson was the best, with JWH the best of the modern era. And yes I did see plenty of Beetson at Easts and Parramatta, but you might be surprised to know that not every game was televised back then.

So if you think me saying that JWH is the best of the modern era is actually detracting from JWH, then it’s abundantly clear to everyone reading this that your brain function is sub-optimal (IQ of a fence post) and that you appear to have serious mental issues. You continually attack people for having an opinion that differs from your own, which I’m 100% certain you wouldn’t have the balls to do in person as I believe you to be a gutless wimp that probably lives in his mother’s basement and doesn’t get out into the real world all that much.

                      Have a nice day.

Lindsey Collins plays his 100th first game for the mighty Roosters next week.

He is 28 now, but will crash through the 200 games easily.

A long way from the big dog thou.

the other thing is it's very hard to compare players from different eras. if you could transport jwh back to the 70s he'd kill it - he'd match the niggle of that era but the athleticism and fitness of the modern game would have him a stand out. thing about artie was his ball playing skills - he'd have 3 blokes on him and still get the miracle ball away

The Roosters are the only club to have four players to have turned out for a team 300 times.

                            Luke Ricketson
                            Anthony Minichiello
                            Mitchell Aubusson

                            and today ..

                            Jared Waerea-Hargreaves

Yeah, it’s a rare feat. If Bromwich had stayed in Melbourne for one more year then he would have made it 4 for them - Smith, Cronk & Slater all playing 300 for them.
