We’re also only 2 points above 10th. Precariously positioned.

            Tigers - Dragons - Bye

Let’s not slip up. Touch wood.

It was 32 last year, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s similar again this year. You’ve got to factor in the 3 byes/6points since the Dolphins came in last year.

Cowboys finished in 11th on 30 last year.

We really should not be losing more than once before the finals. Storm is a hard game down there but they shit me. It feels like they are so arsey. They have won nearly every game they have by a try, which credit to them, we have been unable to do.

Penrith is still the only team that scares me. If we can avoid them till the GF we should be playing in it.

Bloody hell hard to get used to having 3 byes yeah we still have plenty to do we need a Top 4 finish no excuses. Todays game goes a long way to some confidence building and that ever important ability to grinned out a game with control of territory and possession low errors and building pressure.

I think it's also confused the Fox commentators. They were running through our draw and said that after the round 19 BYE, the Roosters will have had all 3 of their BYES.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

                      • Other than the Storm, Panthers and Sharks, the Top 8 is very tight.

Despite a season of poor discipline and biased refereeing, but thanks to a superior For and Against (+161), the Roosters now sit in 4th position on 20 points. The best For and Against for other teams within 2 points of them is the Bulldogs (18 points) with +63. There are numerous permutations next week even though several teams below us have the BYE. We can probably afford to drop a game in the next month and not drop out of the Top 8.

Easts now have an 8 day turnaround to smash the Tigers who are back in their rightful place at the bottom of the pile. They are paying $1.13 and the Tigers are despised outsiders, paying $6.05.

Easts have also firmed slightly to win the comp. They are equal 2nd favourites with Melbourne who are currently on top of the ladder. Both teams are paying $5.50. Penrith (close to unbackable) are paying $3.

                        Some notable stats:
                        • Captain Walker is 5th leading point scorer (122) with 4 tries and 53 goals. He has kicked the 2nd highest number of goals this year.
                        • Captain Walker's goal kicking success rate has improved markedly to 89.8% (I think he has only missed 5 all year).
                        • Captain Walker is 4th for try assists.
                        • Captain Walker gives away more penalties than anyone else (yes, even more than JWH).
                        • Captain Walker also gives away more set restarts than anyone else.
                        • Young and Manu have each scored 10 tries. NOTE: Manu should do a bit more passing to his outside man when he is near the try line. In recent weeks he has hogged the ball.
                        • Young (17) has more line breaks than anyone else.
                        • Only 3 other players engage the line more often than Keary.
                        • Tedesco is 2nd for tackle breaks and 4th for line break assists (too bad he still runs in circles and falls over).
                        • Brandon Smith is 3rd for dummy half runs.
So we're now well past the halfway mark of the season. Despite corrupt refs, missing players (suspension, SOO and injuries), flaky discipline, sins bins and send offs, lopsided penalty counts and set restarts, it's almost a miracle that Easts are 4th on the ladder.

Blink, and their aspirations could go up in smoke!

Thanks mate...mixed bag for Walker. What is evident is the effect of Holbrooks coaching in unlocking our attack.

                          • You don't want to be taking any team lightly irrespective of their place on the ladder - Who would have thought that the Titans would put 66 points on the Warriors.

Have to wait to see if any of the SOO players will be rested plus they will need to find a left centre for at least 2 games ( Tigers and Dragons games) with Fetalaiga Pauga suspended for 4 games (If he takes the early plea) and Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i with 2 games still to serve of a 4 game suspension.

                            • We've seen all year that you can't take any team lightly, and if you show up on game day a little off, and the other side is committed, you'll probably lose - no matter where you both are on the ladder.

With that being said... I decided to run the numbers on our record against the Tigers since Trent Robinson joined, and it is pretty astonishing.
We have won 15 of the 16 matches against the Tigers since 2013, and have scored a total of 569 points at an average of 35.5 per game.
The Tigers have scored 172 at an average of 10.7 per game, giving us an average winning margin of 25.

I don't think there would probably be a more dominant record in the entire comp.

Actually since 2010, they've only won one additional game for a strike rate of 2 from 23 games.
