He played his best football for us when he was coming off the bench as a pig against tired forwards.

Happy for him to be our 15, but it does mean a traditional forward misses out from our 17.

Have to admit, it could be a bit of a problem fitting Sandon, Watson and Radley all into one team. The way Sandon has played in first grade, I feel like he really should be there. Oh well, God knows we’re never at full strength for long, anyway.

Great thread though. Watson was tremendous.

We associate speed with running which you need legs to do but I was wondering does anyone have arm speed?
I think a few in here would have good arm speed.

Watto deserves the praise. He is no half or centre. Lock is his position. But his dummy half game was also pretty good yesterday. We can't have Sandon and Watto in the team imo. Hard choice if one misses out.

Connor has been one of our best all season - we missed his impact last year.
Can play 80mins, make 50 tackles ,150m and more importantly he straightens our attack

Rads has been great this year but can also play edge - at full strength, it might even be worth going

                11. Crichton
                12. Radley
                13. Watson

                14. Sandon
                15. N Butch
                16. Leniu
                17. May

Unlucky for Whyte as his impact has also been fantastic.

I’ve always like Watson and due credit to him.
His enthusiasm, willingness and speed make a difference.
With Radley out for the St Merge game didn’t bother me. Lots here have been praising Radley’s fine efforts this season as do I however I find him so so slow nowadays and the soft and slow passing game targeted by opposition coaches.
Radley now plays like a prop so 2nd row with Watson at lock. Smith Watson Walker Keary as evident yesterday. This combo didn’t force our captain to over play his hand.

Allowed Trent to play four forwards on the bench. Even with the game ending injury to Jennings, the shuffle worked.

Made Radley’s pace look pedestrian. Sandon might struggle to re-enter the side.

Is Watson signed yet? Playing for a contract brings the best out in players

Robbo suggested that was possibly the case until Radley got injured hey?

Good call IMO as the hot pirate always goes hard.

He wasn’t when both him and Sandon were available.

                          Watson is a gun
                          energiser bunny
a few were calling for him to be gone last year and early this year
can play any position bar prop - played centre at school in rugby
                          he is the perfect 14
can see him playing lock and rads on the edge or sandon smith and Watson 14 and 15 and run a dual energiser
with edge back rowers playing 80 min now and rads can move there this may be an option
wonder if Nat butch had pressure on him after a few poor performances hence why he aimed up on the weekend

that he was great with ball in hand wasn't surprising but his defence was also very good. love him in the middle playing what's in front of him. with smith not playing the full 80 the tricky thing is how to juggle connor's time between filling in at dummy half and being an eyes up middle. when sandon smith comes back, there's an argument to have both watson and him in the 17, although with leniu coming back that will be hard
