Hate to say I told you so, but there you go.

It's a sad day imo. I love Keary as a player.

But he can now be at peace knowing he can put his health first.

Hope we can send him out a winner (again) this season

He makes some valid points..some of Teddy's best last 2 years is after he has a week off.Every 2 weeks is dumb but a breather here and there would do him good.He should quit SOO though
        .We pay him enough.

Why are you saying I told you so? You were adamant that head knocks would see him retire but hes playing the season out. If he was seriously worried about concussions he woukd have retired immediately not at seasons end

Yes, its not a HIA based call. I think he's made a family decision and likely has a decent gig lined up for next year. Plus he knows we have some promising halves coming through so isn't leaving the club in the lurch. Its not so much the playing that retirees are happy to forego its the bloody off season training! The boys get flogged.

It has everything to do with the head knocks.

If wasn't for the head knocks, he would be playing well beyond this season. He is only 32 mate, and signed an extension just 2 months ago.

              What does that tell you?

To be honest, he may not last the season, and I suspect he wont always be playing at full throttle when on field. I hope he does and stays healthy.

Now you're just making things up to suit your narrative. You have absolutely no clue why he's changed his mind, none of us really do. It could be that he got out of bed one morning and decided he was sick of it all. That's what our last great 5/8th did, went for a walk one morning and decided he had enough. If memory serves me right he was also 32 and could have played on if he wanted to.

And in closing, i find it abhorrent that you would think a player like Kez would continue playing this season if there was any risk to his health and if he thought he couldnt give 100% to the team

I don't think he'd be too concerned about who is coming through. If he still had the urge to play beyond this season he would. I also think concussions have something to do with his deicsion, he just hasn't come out and said it.

Losing $800,000 it must be something very important to forfeit that amount of money.
