Might be just me but I really don’t think we’ve been THAT bad aside from that bulldogs game.

Thursday was frustrating but there were moments in us when we look really good, just have to nail it down. And I think our D is looking a lot better.

Our draw has been rough too.

    We will win next week

I disagree, but that's just my view. For a team that had really narrowed there focus on starting the year fast to be 3/7 is a huge dissapointment.

The team also looks very confused on how to play. It's obvious we play our best when playing flat and fast through the middle. We've seen patches of it, like last week against Newy. It suits our players and their strengths. Instead we seem to become inpatient and play this clunky lateral shape that creates nothing.

The draw hasnt been too bad. We lost to an understrength dogs and Riff. If Ponga didn't get injured last week I doubt we win that too.

3/7 way not good enough. Some of the players, I reckon think the coach is annoying and maybe they are confused by his messaging. Yes I don't know this factually - just my thoughts.

Anyway, see what happens on Anzac Day. The Dragons did run straight, strong and hard last night.

      GO ROOSTERS.

Yep, too impatient with ball in hand possibly our biggest issue ATM. I feel that our pack can match it with the top sides - heck we have already seen it this year just really need that direct play more often.

The dogs first half was utterly embarrassing but thought with our circumstances on the night heading into that second half we honestly should’ve been pummeled something like 36-0 but we fought back really well against a improving dogs side.

The riff are clearly the benchmark team and we aren’t there yet but let’s see how the season develops with some of our troops coming back. We can still develop

With losses to manly, penrith, storm & the dogs and our biggest losing margin only being 7. Just outside a converted try.

It’s not all doom and gloom yet boys.

Leniu to come back with JWH dropping onto the bench will hopefully give us that much needed impact again that will result in a more direct driven play

I agree mate. The reaction from fans has been a bit over the top.

We went with the Storm blow for blow for the first half, possibly on top at that stage.

I mentioned pre game my concerns with a 2 Butch 17, and a bit less bench punch. Over the 80 minutes our energy dwindled a bit when we needed some big input off the interchange. Only Joey Manu provided that threat to their defence and, as usual, off very individual plays. We need to threaten more as a team, going in numbers. As has been alluded to in the Get Trent threads, we need to change our tactics up a bit. Higher risk, more offloads from us and less against us would be a nice start.

On the positive, we are pretty close to beating these "top" teams. It won't take a massive leap. But something needs to change.

Well put it this way mate. The storm made 6 line breaks to our 1 and yet they somehow only made 33 more meters than us in all run meters for the entire match. We made 1614 to their 1647.

However they did also have a sin bin in which we have to score. Again comes down to us being too impatient with ball in hand and not building pressure.

A grab from a Fox Sports piece about why to not give up on your team for this year, yet. This was ours...

"They might remain just outside the top eight after their 18-12 loss to the Storm overnight, but their points differential of +31 is the third-best in the competition. They put 48 points on their biggest rivals the Bunnies, for crying out loud, and have already beaten last season’s grand finalists the Broncos. They’re busting more tackles than a streaker trying to take a selfie with Lionel Messi, and Joey Manu looks hell-bent on winning a Premiership before he jets off to Japanese rugby. He’ll be sipping sake with a third winner’s medal around his neck".

We are playing much better footy at this point of the season than we were last year.

The Dogs loss just flat out wasn't good enough, should have won that game and the fact we just didn't show up is concerning.

Out of the Broncos/Manly/Penrith/Melbourne games I would've liked to think we would've won at least two.

We are playing at the level of a 5th-8th placed side currently IMO.

I feel like the dogs 'fight back' was more a result of the Dogs not coming out of the sheds at half time. They knew their first half dominance had secured them the win already.

The Riff are the bench mark but i was hopeful we could jag it against them without Cleary, Sorensen and JFH. I view both them games as missed opportunities.

Robbo talked a big game about starting quickly and it just hasn't eventuated. That was the development i was hoping for. You need to bank early wins so you can manage your squad through into finals nice and fresh.

But instead it seems like another repeat of the last few years where we will have to red line just to make the finals and then run out of gas. I've seen this movie already and was hoping not to have to sit through the dissapointment again.

I think our forwards have been quite good for the most part. Spencer may help a little, but it won’t change how poor the majority of our backline has been. Keary, Suualii and Teddy in particular have been quite poor and ineffective. When all fit, Robbo must bring Billy Smith, Sandon Smith and Walker back into the run-on team if we want to be successful this year. Keary to medically retire after a head knock at training, Suualii to reserve grade until he moves on and Teddy put on notice with the threat of Manu at 1 (which is a change I’d make personally right now).

I think the disappointment on this site is based on the previous 2 seasons of mediocre displays and not really seeing any improvements in key areas this season.

                        Clunky attack
                        Basic errors
                        Poor long kicking game
                        Penalties/ 6 agains
                        Injuries/Suspensions

You also can’t hide from our dreadful record against the top teams ( Melbourne Panthers) I don’t think we are even close to these teams and that’s where my frustration lands,.

It’s all about expectations, if we were say the Tigers and had this start we would be ok as a supporter base as that’s what we would expect. But us Roosters fans expect more and maybe we just need to just accept we are a 6-12 ranked team atm. That to me in the depressing part

to be fair i don't think you can write off the dogs performance as totally 'bad'. yeah, it was a shocking beginning, but that second half was top shelf. with a bit of luck we could easily have jagged a couple more wins. and this team has a resilience about it, a proven ability to overcome a bad start to the season.
what is said on here is mainly just piss and wind. roosters diehards, with nothing better to do with their time, venting cos they want the team to win
