I don’t think there’s value in paying top end of the market for centres unless it is a Joey Manu, Stephen Crichton or Latrell Mitchell. Because they have to be able to something on top of being a great centre to justify the pay packet.

The difference between the next best and backing a good youngster just isn’t worth the 400-600k difference in salary cap space for mine. I’d much rather see that cap space go to getting a good edge forward.

For some perspective Joey Manu has 9 try involvements in 6 games this year, Staggs has 2 in 6 games. He’d be commanding a salary not far off Manu’s on the open market..

Tend to agree. Finding an outside back to replace Manu and bring what Manu brings will lead to overspending and disappointment.

We need to be using the funds to give us strike power across the park to make us more well rounded as opposed to like for like, as there is nobody available like Joey.

Agree, much prefer him over Staggs but I thought we chased Herbie previously before he signed with the Ponies. I remember seeing that Robbo had met with his parents in the UK during our last WCC but he ended up in Qld - maybe wanted to work on his tan!

I bet To'o is on more than $650K. I think wingers are more valuable than centres now so $650K is decent.

What a player he is , he gives the panthers momentum in there sets with his hard runs and fast play the balls, invaluable !
He is worth more to the panthers then what they would be paying him.

Honestly... when these guys learn to defend as well as a 36 year old Jennings who has just spent 3 years on the sideline then I'm gonna get excited. No disrespect to Jenko but it's an embarrassment when some nobody Knights waltzes through for an easy try and the only bloke running back to hurl his body at the guy is MJ.
