  • Adam Douehi

I've just seen a pic on Hello Sport's Instagram what looks like Adam Douehi and Robbo meeting up at the races recently. He's off contract end of this year.

Horrible injury record I think he's done 3 ACLs but on his day looks really good. Huge boot, big body and seems to be of good character.

What would the pens thoughts be on Douehi joining in 2024? You'd assume it would be to play 6 but he has a history of playing centre aswell with less success it must be said.

I don't rate him. Having said that, it's hard to gauge one's ability when the team they play for is rabble. Our standards should be higher!

I'd be prepared to take the gamble and have him.
Big bodied half which compliments our other small half Sam.
Adam plays other positions and kicks goals so, tick, tick, tick.

Good player but too injury prone. We have one of these.

          What about Sandon Smith?

I would prefer Sandon Smith to be our long term 6 option but Douehi does bring some of his own qualities.

I also think so long as The Cheese is our hooker, there will always be a role for Sandon Smith in our 17.

He was close to signing with the Roosters in 2020 but signed with the Wests Tigers instead. I think ESL is a likely landing spot as he is off contract in 2024 - Not due back to Round 17 or so this season

                  On balance, NO!
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

He's kind of Hutch, with a bit extra. Can play multiple positions, just none at an outstanding level. Couldn't purchase him with a top 17 in mind, but NSW Cup with depth for injuries maybe. He's got ticker.

Robbo mentioned yesterday they were looking for outside backs just not in Lomax price category.

From memory he played some centre and went ok.

                          When fit I rate him

If he and Billy Smith can co-ordinate when they get injured so one of the two is always available he could be a great fit for the squad.

I think that might be at our lower grades game, not the races. Wouldn't surprise me if this one does eventuate, Douehi has spoken glowingly in the past about Robbo as a person.
