Comparing Robbo to Cleary is laughable too. Cleary had a mediocre record and was well on the way to butchering the tigers roster before he got absolutely kissed on the d$&k by landing the panthers job. Obviously he’s done well there but it was all set up for him.
You’re right … you can’t compare Cleary and Robbo … Cleary has beaten him 10 straight times … including with a team loaded with reserve graders the other night … Robbo has been left behind

Cleary has obviously made the Panthers what they are … they have lost a number of high end players and he still turns water into wine every year … who have we lost? yet we still can’t compete

I gave Robbo credit for his recruitment … although it is of course not all about him … but it’s all a ruse regardless when you can barely get the most loaded team in league into the finals ever year

That shouldn’t happen considering Cleary was out and we had the momentum from the week before!
Exactly… we got outfought and out-thought on our home pitch by a B grade lineup … to lose once again … dud coach

To suggest they are poorly coached is laughable but that’s just the usual attention seeking fools.
Penrith were missing Cleary … what are you talking about?

So what would you like Les? A change of coach? That’s not going to happen. The club is run by wise and successful businessmen, not fickle fans.

So you can keep whining about things that aren’t going to happen, or not, the choice is yours. But it’s pretty boring.

if we think losing to Penrith without Cleary was bad, heaven forbid if the “hutch” takes us down.

Will we win? If hutch is running the show, yes.
Gus may be the smartest man in league but signing Hutch was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever heard … Robbo referring to Hutch as a gun for hire was the first

Panthers aren't fitter than any other team, it's an illusion. They just play the game at a high tempo and with control. This works for them! Our tempo is a notch below but that's where Robbo thinks we play our best footy. It's the same tempo since 2013. The difference is the overall class of players we have especially our spine.

Criticism is due where criticism is due … otherwise what is there to talk about … the weather?

I don’t expect to win every week … I said nothing after the Manly egg … but that was an embarrassment the other night … smacked at home by a depleted side we never beat … it deserves criticism

I know the coach won’t be sacked anytime soon but he needs to be held accountable … too many people give him a free ride with zero pressure to perform … as a result we’ve gone backwards these last 4 years

I think they had 12 or so of their 2023 GF-winning side playing, so hardly a B-grade side, one has to say, with a number of them having won three grand finals as well and are state and international reps.

In the early days of the 2024 season, for instance, a number of people were saying Manly could win the competition or be in the top four—they have lost two in a row now.

At this stage both clubs would be better off burying the book of fueds and just getting back to playing normal games against each other. The rivalry has gone too far and doesn’t do either club any good.
This is what the game is based on. Tribal hatred against each other. Never. Remember the sun rises in the East.

The main thing I’d like to see from Robbo is what he spoke about, on how we are going to see a different style of attack that we haven’t seen since 2019, he did say it will be subtle, the main thing I have noticed is that we seem to have more offloads in us so far this year? Anybody else noticed this? Or am I looking too hard at what may have changed?

Cleary signed an ageing Josh Reynolds to a $3 million dollar contract at the tigers. Think about that for a minute. That is the kind of coach he is with without the panthers juggernaut behind him. Just an average coach who got very lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

The Mercurial Hutchinator didn't have time for a committee meeting, though, and as always, he did his best.

One noticeable thing was the poor service from the dummy half from the Dogs, as alluded to on the footy show: passes need to be out in front so players are running onto the ball with momentum and speed and not having to slow down or be flat footed to catch the ball near their knees or shoulder/head area.

Many teams play too flat in attack as well, making the ball carrier an easier proposition to tackle, as they are not hitting the D line with momentum and pace as they would be if running onto the ball from further back.

You often hear commentators saying X team needs to be deeper in attack.

The Roosters need to keep working on this aspect of their game (offloading) and support play and push play - The better the D is the more you need to move the ball and not only side-line to side-line..

Trent is a great coach or was under the old rules but has struggled since then. Roster? Other teams such as Penrith can still win decisively even with their best players out. If Bennett, Bellamy and Cleary had our roster I believe we would make the GF 2/3 times. Bennett already has the comp’s new team on top of the ladder. Coaches and coaching styles do make a huge difference. We are better this year but still can’t get out of our own half, still dozens of errors and still no long kicking game. These problems are years old and tied up with the coaching style. In my view we cannot win the trophy this year with the style of footy we are being coached to play.
