Both boys are being developed at the Roosters. Xavier after a shoulder recon at the end of last year, unfortunately tore ligaments in his ankle in the Bunnies trial match. He only just turned 20 in Nov., so plenty of time to grow & develop some more under the Chooks system. Had a good preseason, everything looked on track & ready to go, then this setback... shit happens. Get over it, move on & get back to work. On track for R6 or 7 for his return.

Salle has been part of a very good SGBall season thus far. He had a good nrl preseason & is still growing & developing under the guidance of great Chooks like Friend, Aubusson, Morris etc. The boys are loving the challenge in front of them. Not looking too far ahead, other than what game is in front of them. The Broncos did not develop them for anything further than qld age group club & rep footy.

The Roosters set a high bar & have put them on a pathway to reach the standard, if they are good enough. So far, all the people that matter at Roosters HQ are happy where they are at & are looking forward to them fulfilling their potential.

A big personal milestone looming will be, God willing, both boys playing together in the front row in NSWCup. X 20yrs & Salle 18yrs, one of the goals set for this season.

This is where they want to be.

Good on them mun. We here on the chookpen will be willing them on and can honestly say we’re excited to hear their progress. We wish them well and cant wait to see them tear it up. Reach out if the boys need assistance.

hahahahahaha I think PVL is from a different Island! But if it helps the Chooks in any way, I'll say yes... he's my 3rd cousin's, next door neighbour's, brother-in-law's great uncle... so we related! lol.

Any idea why Salle didn’t play in SG Ball this weekend? Hoping he’ll be back for the finals in a fortnight.

Apparently, coaching staff decided a few players would be rested vs the Sharks.

Love these guys' names BTW... they both sound like they're Greek Orthodox churches.

IMO there's no rush. If they know their footy then whether they debut at 18 or 23... no difference.

To me the big thing is to let them recovery properly and build-up strength rather than prostituting them out to all the junior teams just because they're available.

These guys clearly aren't ready yet (physically - they're kids) and rushing them won't help.

I respect your opinion & tbh have thought similar at times, but this is the business of footy, & other people make these decisions of when, where & who? Injuries can hit you early in the journey, or late in your career, or you can be blessed & get through unscathed... all part of this roller coaster ride.
