  • Xavier and De La Salle Va’a Contract Extension

Former Broncos Academy young guns Xavier and De La Salle Va’a are kicking major goals at the Roosters.

The monster duo will stay at Bondi until the end of 2026 after inking two-year extensions with the Roosters, who have big plans for the Towers of Terror they poached from the Broncos in 2021.

At 193cm and 116kg, hulking Xavier, 20, has captained the Queensland under-19s and is being groomed to fill the front-row void when enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves departs at season’s end.

His younger brother De La Salle is scarily bigger at 194cm and 115kg. He was bigger than most NRL forwards as a 15-year-old and has been monstering opponents in the Roosters’ lower grades.

It seems only a matter of time before the Va’a boys, who are also talented boxers, wear Roosters colours in the NRL.

Is Xavier injured right now? Can't see him on the list for NSW Cup or Harold Mats. Woulda thought he'd otherwise be in the conversation for this week given our outs.

Prettyharsh saying they were "poached from the drongos academy" If a powerhouse like the drongos really wanted to keep them, they wouldn't have been "poached." More likely they wanted to leave?

When does the Broncos Academy start? I thought they came here aged ~14/15 and have gone through the Roosters Academy?

Drongos have their 100% home-bred QLD stock like Rhys Walsh, Ezra Mam, Adam Reynolds, Katoni Staggs, Payne Haas, Fletcher Baker, Tristan Sailor...etc. We just take all the rejects that they don't want... like Sam Walker, Luke Keary, Lindsay Collins and the Va'a Brothers.

Apparently Brisbane owns all QLD'ers though. Anybody who had their nappy wiped there is a product of their systems as the first thing they're taught up there is to cry their eyes out over absolute BS... :P

This is great news I haven't been this excited to see young players at the club make it to first grade since Latrell Mitchell was carving up the younger competitions. Does their uncle still frequent the forum?

Back in the day, it may well still happen, but the Broncos would sign a stack of kids on scholarships to stop other NRL sides from signing them. I would love to see a list and see how many actually went on to play NRL.

Good to hear Sandon Smith give a wrap to Coach Strange (John Strange) and the work he is doing on the Central Coast in both the Men's and Women's game at the Junior and Senior Levels - development squads, academies and coaching.

                Roosters Radio - Sandon Smith

Young playmaker Sandon Smith joins Roosters Radio this week to discuss his recent performance, and injury.

Out of context to those who don’t know this must be such a strange post to read.

                      Peter V’landys is their uncle?

"Poached" is just the usual shit grade F grade reporting trying to cash in Roosters being the cashed up thieving "poachers". Cause that gets the haters fired up. Sickening the country we live in, and the media we have are an utter embarrassment. I've made the decision to exit all mainstream media as of today. From tomorrow none of it. Have read multiple stories as to the negative effects that consuming the mainstream media has on people, and the benefits stating away from these ****ers has on you, and your mental health

Hope I can stick to it

I'll be honest, i have only ever seen Xavier play twice as he seems to have Billy Smith like injuries

But the wraps on him are huge
