    ROOSTERS SQUAD v SOUTHS

    Rnd 3 - 8:00pm, Friday 22th March
    ALLIANCE Stadium, SYDNEY

The first of our two grudge matches against our arch rivals, the South Sydney Vermin.

After a very disappointing result last week, we will have to lift for this game. They will be up for this, there's nothing surer, so we have to match them for enthusiasm, physicality and execution. They will be desperate to get on the board and avoid a 0-3 start to the season.

300 games for our ultimate warrior, Jared Warea-Hargreaves. What a champion player and bloke he is. Every team needs a bit of mongrel, someone to take it to the oppositions key players. Jazz does that every week. No running at halfbacks for him, he's always straight at their biggest bopper and more often than not he wins that battle and sets the platform for our side. He deserves all the accolades he gets this week. I seriously love the bloke. I hope he has a blinder and we win this one - just for him.

No Kez this week, after he attacked Turbo's knee with his head last week. If that was Jazz or Rads they would of got suspended. Somewhat of a reshuffle results, with Sandon Smith coming into the 6 and Watson in the 14. He was very good last week in Reggies, racking up good meters and 50 tackles. He will add some of the spark that we were missing last week.
Gus comes onto the bench, with Nat replacing Wong in the starting side. Angus too went gang-busters in Reggies last week. Let's hope he has returned to form and can make a difference for us.

Souths have dropped Ilias and have installed Dean Hawkins at halfback. I know nothing about him, but he is less experienced than Sandon, so maybe we aren't at as big a disadvantage losing Kez. Wighton could be a big in for them if he brings his A game, but he is not a consistent footballer and is known for drifting in and out of games ... hmmmm, sounds like someone else I know. He should fit right in there.

I'm coming up from Canberra with my wife, 2 of my daughters and their partners. I want to celebrate Jazz's 300th in style. I'm really looking forward to this, it should be ripper. I reckon we'll bounce back from last week and put in a big performance. Fingers crossed for a famous win!!

    Bring it on.

Go Jazz !! GO EASTS !!

      Happy with he changes
      massive weekend this one
      1. Jwh 300th nrl game
      2. also Gus critchon 100th for the roosters
keary out but glad robbo put a smith and Watson on the bench instead of going back to Manu at 6 again
Wong has lost his spot but Gus critchon killed it in reserves so guys will need to play well each week to keep their spot
The backs especially this week with Billy smith coming back through res grade
what about jenko still looking pretty good
glad Conner Watson is back in form after not playing since 2022
and Gus critchon let’s hope he’s back to his best now!

Nice preview Waylander. Another Canberranite? You guys should form a club...

Despite no Kez, you have to say its a bloody strong looking team still on paper. But that needs to convert to on field performance.

Good luck Sandon, I think he will do well. Nat Butch brought up to stiffen that defensive edge and support his half. Great to see Gus back for his 100th game. Wong is talented but needs some work still getting good position in that edge role, both attack and defence. Jenko sneaking up the ranks to 18th man I see. Our three-quarters better perform as Billy is back and ready.

But it's JWHs night. Hope he has a stormer and all players keep the emotions in check.

            Great looking bench.

Interesting to see Jennings as 18th man.

Glad Sandon is named at 6 instead of the Joey experiment.

I think very harsh to drop Wong. Sitili was far worse defensively on the weekend. The defensive effort (or lack thereof) he made on the weekend for the lucky no try call for Olakuatu was absolutely pathetic.

                  Wong dropped. Interesting.

We are aiming to be better this year " apparently ". A win over these low lifes is a MUST. The loss to Manly was inexcusable.

                  All the best to JWH.

Would like to see Billy back in and Suuali moved to the wing. That right side defence is so much better with him on the wing. Souffs will have a field day with Manu and Young on that side.

It's a game of football ffs. Inexcusable...for gods sake. They lost a game of football you overly dramatic fool. Your post is inexcusably moronic. There's an example for you of how the word is used.

All the anger in anticipation of Joseph Manu being named at 6 was for nothing.
