    Sam Moa for mine.

Took out Glenn Stewart on carry number 1. Took every tough carry and just belted blokes in every tackle.

Would’ve been happy with Moa, Maloney or SBW though to be honest.

Look at the recent winners of the award and you can clearly see one thing is common.

Neither player is the best player in the game, sure an exciting player who has brief moments of brilliance but rarely the games best player gets the award.

      Joke of an award

Sam Moa was the best Roosters player on the night but he barely played half of the game it's hard to give a guy the man of the match award when he plays 40 odd minutes

Would've never been caught out had they been anonymous and who knows how many more games they would have voted on without actually watching the games had they not been called out.

Transparency is accountability when it comes to Judging.

I appreciate no system is perfect and at the end of the day it's an opinion so we will all disagree but there is an inherent bias against players who have played well but are in a side with multiple other players who also played well.

For example I dont think Talakai (2pts) played better than Joey Manu (0pts), but Talakai was part of a winning side with very few standout players, Joey Manu played well in a side that had quite a few standout players. That’s why I say the 3-2-1 is fundamentally flawed.
Brad Fittler came under fire for club bias in 2010 for giving Todd Carney 3 or 2 points late in the season possibly the final round in a game which he was a bit quiet and that sealed his Dally M medal victory even though he was far and away the best player of the season anyway

Billy slater winning man of the series after only playing the last 2 games, and the blues having already won the series in game two. Cordner easily deserved it, if not turbo or cook.

it was his farewell series, but the NRL needs fairytales no matter how ridiculous the choice.

yeah it was Api Koroisau when playing for Manly against Parra. Manly got flogged- Api had a shocker and missed like a dozen or so tackles. Must have been the Fijian connection because she awarded Api a Dally M point.....but when the shit hit the fan she admitted to not even watching the game!!!!

Seeing Teddy get 5 points and everybody else either getting 6 or 4 was pretty stupid.

That said, Teddy's been Dally M and I don't necessarily disagree with a bunch of recent selections.

The process? Yes. IMO certain names just have a twang about them each season so people keep repeating them (even when others are quietly notching up better results). Also, teams like Easts have more than 1 star, so our galaxy's harder to map-out when choosing the brightest star.

IMO it's almost intentionally a prize that either goes to somebody like Ponga, Hynes, Wighton, Trbo...etc who's doing alright in a shyte team. Otherwise, Cleary would have more than a few by now.

As DCE said about his Clive Churchill... he'd trade it for a premiership ring ANY day of the week. IMO the premiership ring's the only REAL prize and the rest are just a pat on the back for trying hard.

Dally M has been a rubbish award since its inception.

Fittler never won one. Danny Buderus did. That’s all you need to know.

Fittler also never won an origin MOTM award.

Sorry folks James Maloney had that game on a string even when the chips were down. He kept things calm and within our playing system. His kicks for both the Tupou and Jennings try's were precision. His line break for the SKD try was world class. No doubt the forwards were immense however it was the class of James Maloney that was the difference in the 2013 Grand Final.

Some of the judges must only watch the highlights. Somehow in the cows and dolphins game, the hammer got points despite having an absolute shocker for 75 minutes. He made a break and set up a try when the game was over.
Everyone's darling Nicko was average at best and got six points.
