  • Getting the band back together

    http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/l...514-1yn2v.html

If these two win Origin for NSW, which is a distinct possibility, Roosters management are going to look like the biggest pack of mouth breathing imbeciles in Rugby League.

But it's cool. We still have Anasta and Noycey at the helm.

    Is Noyce going with Braith?

Careful Bansai, the last time I came on here and bagged noyce, everyone started throwing ticking missiles in my direction.

It's nice to see though, that as the events of this year have unraveled, people are beginning to hate the turtle headed dinosaur.

It feels good to know your not alone.

Alternatively, the club could have kept him on. In which case we would be constantly in the headlines everytime Carney is seen out drinking. We could have him constantly stalked in order to get a headline. We could have the print, TV and radio media bagging our club incessantly for not doing something about Carney. We could have the team completely distracted and focusing on Carney's offf-field dramas instead of concentrating on playing football. We could be wondering why Carney is playing crap for us and the team is looking like wooden spooners.

          Unfortunately, correct.
Add to this .... "Roosters lose all major sponsors because of (insert latest Telecrap headline)"

We'd be a pretty special team if Carney in his current form was the Roosters 6 right now.

But that's all right. Our 5/8 is sober.

Funnily enough, he's the one who stitched Carney up with a drinking ban.

And Carney was one of the stupid idiots to get caught at 4am breaking the rule on his final warning.
The rest of the team reacted accordingly and rallyed to avoid another wooden spoon...

Funnily enough Noyce was one of the few "decision makers" that was pleading with Uncle Nic to let Carney stay. He loved the bloke, as did most at the Roosters. If anybody thinks he's become a clean skin since moving to Cronulla then they are extremely naive. He's drinking a hell of a lot more often now then he ever was at the Roosters because current agendas in the media are allowing it. Personally, I'm happy about that. He is a 25 year old bloke that is no different to most 25 year old blokes, and that might be a sad statement for society but it's reality. If every player in the league received the same scrutiny Carney did last year then we wouldn't have a comp. Atherton Roosters would be killing it though. It was unfortunate the way things turned out but he had to be sacked. If he wasn't the media frenzy would have been relentless, sponsors would have dropped off, and our on-field performance would have continued to be poor through lack of focus. It was unfair on Carney and unfair on the Roosters, but hey life ain't always fair is it.

If only we still had Ritchie Barnett in the centres.
Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.

At the very least we wouldn't have to listen to him commentate

                          I didn't know that.

So Politis and Anasta are responsible?

It would be hard to completely blame Nick - he definitely put a lot of trust in him and gave him every opportunity to succeed and anasta is only the captain and a fellow player - he alone couldnt have caused this. Its very naive to suggest we made the wrong call by letting him go all things considered. He let us down big time

Imo, the tipping point for Todd was bringing Watts to the club. It was no secret that the bloke was a grub and like mason and myles, he was the final piece of the puzzle along with darius boyd in the Australian camp that removed his focus. Might I add that Watts just got sacked by Widnes only days after re-signing. I will go so far as to say that if Myles and Watts never worse RW&B, Todd would still be here. That said, he is a 25 year old man and not a boy who had everything taken away from him only 3 years ago yet seemingly hasnt learnt his lesson. Its about time he takes responsibility for his life.

Ohh and mark my words, he will do to cronulla what he did to us. Cronulla have some real grubs floating around who get hammered regularly - a far worse culture than ours ever was trust me. As soon as some of them start to feel invincible and taste success, not even rotherfield will be able to keep the headlines under raps

Pointless argument, players like carney are one in a million. No one can deny that talent and the impact he can have on a team, 2010 and effectively 2011 showed that.

I didn't want him gone but the club made the decision and needs to be respected. It was very easy for them to keep him. The future of carney was in his hands and HIS hands only. No point in saying who is responsible, its all crap and most of you know that. I'm excited to watch him and pearce tear it up hopefully for the blues and sure it will probably hurt knowing we did have the best halves combo but the club showed no player is bigger then it, is that what we want?
