When asked for her initial thoughts on the games, Ally said: “Oh my god it’s amazing, it’s so exciting. They’re super handsome, they’re super gorgeous — that’s the first reason (why I enjoyed it).”

Oh dear, I'm not sure that's what the NRL were hoping for. We all know Reece Walsh is gorgeous don't we?

      Interesting report nevertheless.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I like the ABC but IMO after years of funding cuts and attempts to stack its leadership with conservatives who hate in (e.g. Janet and Ida) it's now basically a barebones outfit that offers:

        - Low-grade inclusive content that generally involves Waleed Ali or some feminist trying to intellectualise some boring shyte that makes me fall asleep at the wheel.

        - Increasingly bland talkback / quiz shows.

        - Lectures/speeches on repeat (beyond the point of 'hey haven't I heard this before... TWENTY TIMES?!?!?')

        - Amanda Vanstone providing token conservative content. It's not even conservative content though... it's just the Amanda Vanstone show. For example last time there was a guest with a PhD and she spent 20 minutes introducing him while saying 'I could have been a PhD and of greater status than them if I wanted to, of course. Did I tell you about how amazing I am? Incase I didn't, let me fill you in...'

        - Former TV hosts like James Valentine doing token radio gigs. I feel like calling to ask 'has anybody told you that you shoulda quit while you were ahead? We all loved the Afternoon Show as kids but your radio program... yeah nah'

        - Then there's clowns like Julian Morrow trying to talk seriously about politics / current affairs. Again. Why do we need this kinda territory.

There's some solid kids' content and I'm sure the cricket has fans (I find it farking annoying). Oh and Dene Halatau gives a solid footy commentary actually!!! However, it's a shadow of its former self. Nothing to do with the people working there BTW... I know a few and they are all constantly doing amazing stuff.

Sorry, but that's a load of shyte.

By Janet, do you mean Janet Albrechtson? She's hardly ever sighted on the ABC and Ita (not Ida) is far from a conservative. She was interviewed the other day by a panel of queers and queer guests and absolutely revelled in her role as their icon and as a friend of minorities. That you could only cite Janet, Ida (sic) and Vanstone is revealing. The taxpayer funded ABC is a conservative-free zone without a single regular prime-time conservative presenter, executive producer or editor for its television, radio or online offerings. If there is, name them please.

Tha ABV is irrelevant. I haven't listened to them or barely even watched them since they stopped broadcasting the Saturday rugby league. Which was great by the way .

Andrew Moore stated that their team were the only ones not part of the paid junket. Everyone else was on the take. Says it all to me re who you can trust.

              - Former TV hosts like James Valentine doing token radio gigs.

James Valentine does afternoons 12.30 till 3.30pm on ABC Sydney - 702 so not sure about the comment above.

ABC, the All Bullshitting Corporation...nothing but propaganda. Unfortunately all the other stations are not that much better.

I thought someone mentioned that the roosters were going to go to Vegas again, an additional game also being considered, possibly the WCC.

I’d take it further and try magic round there. At least it’s one free home game Brisbane wouldn’t get.

I reckon if it stays as a double header, the two winning sides should keep their spot for the following year until they are beaten then the new winners go back again until they are toppled.

She and others suggested that a SOO match should be taken to America where the players will put more spirit and effort into the contest than what was apparently on display yesterday.
Anyone who says that can't have even watched the games

I actually find James Valentine quite entertaining.

Now, there’s a shirt you could sell at a Shute Shield game

SMK merely said that he didn't care about the Vegas aspect presumably because of the joy of the win - it was a great performance and one that we're not used to seeing in season openers. Surely that was the most important thing. Anything like this, and especially involving America in some way, always gets overhyped and this one was no exception.

It was an attempt to expand gambling so who does care about the success that enterprise? Oh yeah I forgot, concern about the suffering in families as a result of gambling is woke.

                                * Jax. Yep there have been great ABC League commentators over the years, I assume that "Old darkie" Wazza Redmond Ryan was one of your faves?
