  • Riki crusher on Tupou

Not sure if anyone else saw it live but there was a pretty bad crusher on Tupou mid way through the 2nd half. You never see Tupou get angry so it said a lot... ofcourse he didn't stay down and ofcourse the touchie didn't see it despite being only metres from it because they don't see much.

Riki had a bit of carry on in nearly every tackle through the game and the technique was so poor it had me questioning the intent.

Make no mistake the boys went after Riki after this tackle, its what lead to the eventual scuffle and accusations that followed.

Yeah well spotted. I also saw that. Toops clutched his head and neck and thought about staying down.

Personally I think despite the Roosters way thing we have going, we should stay down if it means getting a penalty for a clearly illegal and dangerous tackle. We would've gotten the penalty and likely wouldn't have had to dish out our own justice that led to the issues you mentioned later in the game.

While we are it with poor reffing against Toops... surely Walsh shouldve been either binned for preventing a try with shoulder charge, or a penalty try awarded.

Yes saw it live and couldn’t believe they didn’t have another look at it. Definitely a crusher

Was Walsh put on report for the shoulder charge on Toops? And why wasn't he in the bin?

Toops should have stayed down, but the ref would have probably ignored it anyway.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I started to think that the rules protecting players suddenly didn’t apply to Toops. A few incidents in the game that easily could have been adjudicated differently. No doubt.

if Toops had stayed down and carried on like that car Reynolds, who is fast becoming the worst milker in the nrl, im
            sure penalty would have followed.

The club needs to start laying down for penalties more often when they are legitimately warranted I only saw the second half of the first game but every touch to the head and crusher tackle saw the player stay down for the penalty we only penalise ourselves by not doing it.

Adam Reynolds has been the milk man of the NRL since Jamie Soward retired

                    I dunno what happened there.

Didn't they initially rule against us and then Teddy challenged on the basis of it being a shoulder charge? I turned away for about 10 seconds and the Drongos were in attack so I dunno if he was even penalised? If he was then they got the ball back straight away...

Like Riki as a player but as r6 said, he carried on like a prat all game. Did something happen in the first half or did the Vegas spotlight get to his head

                        Typical refereeing of our games.
It'll never change until we change it, by on field tactics and off- field action.
Broncos players were allowed to attack the heads and faces of our players in tackles on the ground and on the way to the ground, all game...without sanction.
"The Roosters Way" needs a few amendments.

                          Agreed.

What the fark do the bunker do?
Multi millions of dollars and all they do is penalise us for an alleged block for a field goal.

Toups has never faked an injury and it's very hard to make him angry. Very grubby play that should have been dealt with by the officials.

Never mind the ref and bunker who should have picked it up, but what about the Match Review Committee? Why was he not charged?
