  • Minichiello Play the ball.

Tbh i felt really sorry for mini , he was gone and he still tried his best for the team , he was all over the place , i felt really sorry for mini . But the referee should of got someone else to play the ball for him as he was gone , , thats a call the nrl should really fix up on imo , they shouldnt be able to say knock on or play the ball , when the player is not 100% . That call blew us the chance of winning IMO , , anyway please tell me your opinions on the call & what should of happened?

Time off until he's right or get someone else to play it. I would think, anyway.

To be honest It happened very quickly I was only aware something was wrong after he played the ball and fell back down on the ground

The ref admitted he should have let Mini play it again.

          This !!!

I don't see why the referee could not have reversed his call in light of a player being disorientated due to a head knock.

And to come out later and "Apologise" to braith for not calling the play as such is just like being slapped in the face with a wet fish !

In such an instance Can a referee reverse his decision once it has been made ?

              Braith should've walked the team.

Just like Gould ordered Freddy to do when Kelvin Jeffes lost control of that match at Brookvale.

                Exactly, Mr Walker.

He got up so quick (or tried to) the referee couldn't have known.

Really, we were lucky not to be penalised.

They raped us with alot of calls during the game, but that wasn't one if them.

Only in an instance of prior foul play. But they have started to call players back to play the ball on a simultaneous call of held. They probably should have given him another play the ball. I'm sure Harrigan will whitewash things anyway.

Hard to criticize Mini as he was in fairyland but it's just one of those football things that happen, if it wasn't for the warriors player holding him up i felt he would have fallen over , this was after he had got to his feet.

I don't think he even played the ball... he was facing in the wrong direction and just fell over.

This has happened before and the ref told the player to play it again I think or gave it to someone else to play. He certainly didn't call a knock-on or penalty. Absolute rubbish calls tonight.

But last night the ref overruled a drop out for Manly and took it to the 20 for a tap after watching the replay on the bloody screen.

As Smithy said in the press conference, a referee with a greater feel for the game would have allowed someone else to play the ball.

None of the current refs have that feel for the game.

Their arrogance is astounding. They talk to players like petulant children and wonder why no one has an iota of respect for them.
