  • What's Big Papi's situation?

Just saw a photo of Big Papi still training with us. Anybody know his situation? I thought he was on a T&T or something.

While on the photos, gee Angus is in a lot of photos, he must be impressing with his attitude and effort. If he wasn’t, there would be limited coverage of him.

With lots of back row competition Angus is probably working hard to earn his position. Great to see.

It’s a big year for Angus
he went from a test and Origen player to very average in a year, shows you how strong mentally you need to be to play not just physically
he is coming into a year off contract so will be keen to secure another good deal whether with roosters or someone else, he will need to get his $750k again
We may re sign him if he has a big year but suggest only 1 year or two max as he has shown abit of difference in form and to keep him playing well
the desire to get his rep spots back and competition in the roosters backrow now not just to make the starting side but 17 in general will be fierce so he won’t want to be a $750k player stuck in nsw cup

I heard a rumour that an ex-Rooster has been bulking up to play back-row.

If big Papi is just on minimum wage I think he is a great addition again.

Wow. How out of shape does he look? How the hell is he going to play fullback looking like that? Anyway..not our problem!

Not real flattering....looks like some Chrissie pud still to work off.

With the bro network getting bigger there with Wighton joining Walker and Lattrell, the Coach is going to have some more fun in keeping their focus this year. Talent will only get you so far.

Exactly and he aint getting any younger either.
                      See thats their major issue.
In the eyes of many he's an out and out explosive centre but because of his star status, he has club management over a barrell which in turn places limitations on the coaching staff and impacts the team.

Team before individual always. That's why we let him go.

Not getting any younger he’s 26 Realistically he should be hitting the peak of his career

I'm not sure why players pack on the weight in the offseason, knowing that when they come back to pre-season training they will be flogged. Hottest part of the year as well.
It is rather unprofessional not to maintain a certain level of fitness.

Not whilst he's at fullback where he hangs out the back hands on hips looking rather unfit and gasping for air.
Blokes like Reece Walsh, Turbo and Drinkwater on the other hand are more dynamic.
Latrell is explosive in the centres because he's able to conserve his energy and charge through his opposition when it's on. Circa 2021/22 SOO when he carved up The Morons playing out wide.

I’d say it’s because they eat the same as when they are playing, just not burning it off due not playing and training.

cant be easy to just switch off your normal eating habits, then add the holiday season, and it doesn’t take much to add a few kgs.
