Unless I'm missing something we need to select three of the following players for two starting spots and one bench.

    Angus
    Sitili
    Wong
    Nat Butch
    Egan Butch
    Whyte

I'd play Gus, Sitili and Wong personally but that leaves a great clubman like Nat Butch out. Hmmm.
That is why I can't see Angus staying on past this season as the rest have extensions past this year.

Nat is a tackling machine and is a good edge forward, but most of the others offer more attacking skills.

People say we haven't done anything since 2019, the following season we started with a rookie half, unexpected retirement of Friend and Cordner. Chuck in 9 ACL's since the start of 2020.
This season there are no excuses.

The best 2 centres at the club are Manu and Smith and should be picked as such. The best two wingers are Toops and Young and should be picked.
Nat Butcher will be in the top 17 every week if fit. Sualli should be the odd man out.
          just my humble opinion .

Here, here. Fighting for positions.....i like it! Shape up or ship out and redeem yourself.

            Unfortunately injuries prevent this ideology.

I actually rate Suaalii & so does Nick & Robbo that's why he will return to the club so he will be in the side without a doubt even though he is leaving.
His best position so far has been on the wing & then FB but I think he could play very good in the centres even though so far that hasn't been the case.
Billy was the best centre last year but pre season attitude & the trials will determine if he starts the year in the centres.
I would like to see him named for rd 1 at left centre with Manu at right centre so if Suaalii is on 1 wing then it comes down to Toups & Young to play on the other wing.
Do I think Billy could miss out yes I do but I also dont think everyone will be fit so its hard to know who will be picked for rd 1.

Young will be first chosen winger before suaali and will be hard to pick Suaali over toops
unless they pick young as a centre
If robbo picks Suaali at centre again he has learnt nothing from his stupid positional f ups he has constantly made and stuffed up our seasons for the last 2 years
other players like Latrell and Manu have been dropped on big money so I can’t see how having $700k pay packet makes you get a spot in the nrl without actually playing well

I couldn’t agree more; definitely our best three backrowers. We’re here to win premierships and we have to play our best players in each position to make that a reality. That’s why Billy Smith must be at left centre, with Suaalii battling with Toups and Young for a wing spot………Toups and Young for me.

Although it may be from the bench, I think Nat would be the first second rower chosen. From what I’ve seen of Egan and Whyte, I’d prefer them both playing in the middle. Whyte is a very strong runner with good speed and footwork. He’s powerful. And with Jarred and May most likely leaving at the end of the year, we need another prop or two. Va’a will take some time.

I'm really looking forward to this season. This has been my first summer in Australia for a long time. I forgot how boring it can be. We have a strong squad with a lot of depth. We have potential to contend but Penrith will be hard to beat. Will be good to get to a few games too.

Yeah very excited for the new season, lots of healthy competition for spots.

Billy Smith at centre over Joe every day of the week no brainer, Joe either starts on the wing over Young or he plus reggies, then again they both can backup goal kick, this is a very good headache to have.

Second row is jam packed Nat/Wong to start this all depends on Sitili being game ready, he’s been out a long time, then the forgotten man Gus and younger Butcher also, we’re stacked here honestly on their day they’re all 1st graders.

The other headache is Utility Watson/Sandon can’t leave Sandon out based on his form last season gee whiz the kid came on in leaps and bounds not afraid of the tough stuff either.

Forward Pack JWH/Collins May/Leniu I really like that rotation.

Then again the round 1 hangover has plagued us for years seemingly doesn’t matter who we play in what position we are notorious slow starters.

Yeah, prop is the position that looks thinnest in depth for us should (when) injury or suspension hits our middle. Robbo could rely on Nat, Egan or Whytey I guess. I expect we might recruit another more seasoned prop for this year though, think we've got a couple of spots still to fill. Not sure who's available though. Unless he's going to rely on Big Papi agan??

Yes prop seems the only position we are not well covered
with jwh/ Collins / Leniu and May in the top 17 there is little outside this other then Vaa who will take some time! 4 spots left so might get another front rower or two - Napa was in the team photos during the week so may be there again as back up

id say robbo will use the back rowers a lot like he has before if 1-2 actual props go down! Critchon / butcher and sitili have multiple times and Wong and Whyte can also play in the middle so this may allow him to play a plethora of back rowers

our top 22 odd guys will play most games in the nrl anyway with injuries etc but the depth in the backline and backrow will cause some good headaches and good form for players to keep spots

A dream team is what it is I can’t find a weakness in it even the bench players and a couple who will play a fair bit of Reggie’s this year will walk into just about every side in the nrl players like Angus Billy Watson suallaii Wong May are all fighting for a sspot in the run on side stilli and butcher as well there’s no excuses this year it’s as strong a roster as I have seen for many a year
