Let’s talk some footy shall we?

Where do you want to see improvement in our side? How can we fix our attack for example? What are some of the things you hope the boys are working on as pre season drags on?

Dont be lazy and just say “ attack “ or “ defence “ explain how you think it should be addressed etc.

    I’ll start -
ERRORS- DRILL IT ALL PRE SEASON! HOLD THE BALL

Kicking game. We have one of the best halfbacks to ever play the game on our coaching staff but yet we couldn’t nail a kicking game this year.
Too many mild end to ends that are like catching practice for the opposition’s backline and then they end up making 10-15M in kick return.. If we have the momentum and a strong kick chase it’s the way to go otherwise when we are in the wrestle kick into space and early fark it we need to start turning sides around and forcing errors.

Was going to say defence but I think towards the end of the season it tightened up dramatically.. whether it be friendy or cords or the both of em doing the work there it has clicked it seems…

    No injuries
    No "off season" dramas
Teach the cheese, walker, Ssmith and Keary how to kick
Find some edge backrowers who like to run lines.
    Get rid of the bunker

I wanna see a lot more flair in our attack. IMO it's become boring and predictable in recent years. I want us to be more adventurous with the ball in hand.

Also I wanna see our marquee players step up. Teddy, Manu, Cheese, Gussie, Keary, Walker and a few others should be able to tear teams apart with their individual brilliance. I wanna see more individual brilliance from them when big plays are needed...

I want to see us to keep every team to zero

Better last tackle options rather than the standard kick chase and tackle.....effing boring and predictable.

Give Sammy more autonomy to dare and play eyes up footy. That's his DNA.

I guess what I want to see is more of the old ultra competitive Roosters that will aggressively fight for a win and do anything to get there, we've been lacking that since 2019 I think.

I do think we've recruited very well with Dom Young as the number 2 highest try scorer in 2023 and Spencer Leniu being a grand final winner with something to prove. Justin Holbrook is also a good recruit for our coaching staff so hopefully he and Robbo will be working on a strong start to the season and consistency throughout the year.

Take a leaf from the panthers playbook and play up tempo with high intensity on every play . This will assure the annual slow start to the season will be a thing of the past at least.
We don't need to be flash we just been to compete at every play with desperation and everything else will take care of itself .

Our kicking game. Our long kicking game is one of the worst in the comp.

                    THIS!!!

It's no surprise we played our best footy this year with Hutch in the halves - didn't matter if it was paired with Keary or Walker

What mattered was that he can kick a ball further then 10m

I haven't seen enough of Sandon's kicking game but hope he can help out from dummy half

Egan Butcher used to be a 5/8 what's his boot like

If we need to give Egan a kick we are really in trouble.

Agree Cigaro, but what you wish for can only come to fruition if we massively improve our set completion rates.

It astounds me that for the past 3-4 years we finish up there yet have the 2nd or 3rd worst completion rate due to our errors.
One can only imagine if we instead were in the top 3-4 best. Vossy often mentions this.

The only way to improve our long kicking game is to sign a new 6 or 7 that can kick long. Can we win a comp with a 7 who's kick resembles a pop gun? Time will tell!

I want to see our attack improve. I’m sick of watching clunky attack which constantly breaks down due to poor timing or dropped balls and errors. Our long kicking game is also extremely frustrating.
