  • Rumour that Sua'ali'i is thinking of staying.

My mate heard on the radio this morning that Sua'ali'i might be staying. Has anyone else heard this?

Could this be a reason as to why J Manu resigning is delayed or not happening?

If you’re on the money here, it’s a significant strategic decision for the club to make, given one will be our next fullback post-Teddy. The smarter decision would be Suaalii given his age. I’m not sure given our recent resignings and recruitment that we will be able to keep both in the team.

The only way we can afford JS to stay is if the ARU pays about $2.5 over three years into his salary and we keep paying him around the 700-800k p a.

I don't want JS to stay if it means losing Manu. I wouldn't even lose Teddy for JS. He made his bed. Go over and do well and come back in 2027. He is far from the finished article and we can't make huge roster decisions based off a 20 year old who has shown glimpses, with all those glimpses being on the wing.

Like Suualii as a player.....but strictly as a winger and nothing more. I certainly wouldn't want to lose Manu to keep JS

To answer your question the answer is no & by the responses so far to your thread the answer is no.
There has been speculation about it through the media over the last week though.
There is no doubt in my mind that he will honor his Rugby contract & there is no doubt in my mind that he will return to the Chooks.

It was Ben Fordham, he was adamant that Joe wouldnt be going to Rugby. He didnt say how he knows this but the Fordham family has had close ties to Mark Bouris for a long time so his info may well be right.

I would love to keep him and Manu and Teddy. He’s made mistakes but has matured a lot. However the thing I love about him the most is his hard work ethic. Some of his tackles have put fear in the opposition and his leaping catches often have given us tries. He’s one person I would hate to be tackled by. He’s like a missile when he sets himself up. Poor guy on the receiving end!

Speculation or just making up stories to gte clicks because htere is nothing else to report. I think the latter. He wouldn't rescind his rugby contratc without a payout!!!
