Penrith's relentless grind game in dominating yardage and field position will take its toll on Brisbane.

Brisbane will need to move the ball and chance their hand, so to speak, but by doing so, they could well play into Penrith's hands if this type of footy produces errors.

Penrith are number 1 in both game possession rates (54% ) and set completions averages (83%) in 2023.

Brisbane are 2nd in game possession rates (51%) and 8th in set completions average (77%) in 2023

Penrith reminds me of the Brisbane Bronco's sides of the early 1990's, as to beat the Broncos back then, the opposition team would need 56% of the possession in the match.

Not saying Brisbane would need 56% game possession to win, but they need to be in the plus 50 range and have a better than 77% set completion rate to have a chance.

Game possession and set completion percentages do matter in games, especially vs. Penrith.

The Roosters in 2023 were 17th in game possession averages (48%) and set completion averages (75%), something that needs to be addressed in 2024.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the cocky Panthers in a flood of tears at fulltime. I wouldn’t mind seeing Reynolds rub the trophy in Souths faces.

As long as the better team wins i'll be fine either way.
I've hated the Broncos since the early 90's and always will
but Penrith have a few annoying traits like their over celebrating,
which seems to have spread to almost every other club over the last few years,
and the way they stretch the rules, they are like clones of Melbourne,
It's Penrith's precision percentage game up against a young side with plenty of enthusiasm, strength, speed and X factor.
The winner will have to be at their best to get the result,
I think it could come down to golden point.

Ironically I think this Penriff team are the worst thing to happen to Rubba Leeg since the inception of Brisbane and later Melbourne...

The players on the Brisbane team are far more likeable and I've had enough of the Riff winning against the spirit of the game. Would be good to see some of the livewires like Herbie, Walsh and Mam cause the upset.

Also good for A-Rey, who I've always been a fan of even whilst at Souffs. Much easier to see him playing well nowadays and would make Souffs look incredibly foolish if he engineers a win for the Bronx.

For the first time ever I will actually be cheering for the Broncos. Kev Walters walked into a basket case of a club and turned it around. Albeit they have more talent than most teams, he set up a place where players not only want to be, but they also put in when the going gets tough.

He aint the coach.. trust me Reynolds is the brains...I tell you he has all markes of a supercoach..if he reitres we should sign him up to coach but I dont think he will shift back to sydney and while we are at it lol@souffs

anyway as per usual refs game I see some similarities to our 2019 GF..if the refs play a skinny 10 with no penalties and no 6 agains both teams have a chance although you would expect Penriff to come out stronger in Tight match..if the 10 is police I give the Broncos every chance to score points and take it out...It is pretty much how it was if we had 10 like the Melbourne GF we would have washe dthe floor with Canberra.
It will be real interesting how the refs cheat this one up...lol.

I don’t mind reading your stuff so I’m curious to know why you think this Penrith side is cancerous

They've played twice this season Brisbane won 13-12 at Penrith in round 1, then Penrith won 15-4 at Suncorp round 12. Brisbane have played only twice in Sydney all season, against the Sharks at Shark Park in June and the Bulldogs at Belmore in July. How on earth do they get such a cosy draw?

They're not playing at Suncorp on Sunday, Penrith are truly great, and Penrith -6.5 @2.40 is my bet. Don't doubt the Broncos have quality, but if they can upset this Penrith team down here it will be some performance.
